La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Santa Cruz

Avoid this hotel if you value sleep or respectful customer service. We were placed in room 119 on the first floor near the elevator. What we were not told is that this room is directly next to housekeeping and staff-only rooms. The noise was constant, and we did not sleep at all. After driving from San Diego and being exhausted, this was completely unacceptable. We called the front desk in the morning to ask if switching rooms was possible. We were placed on hold for about 10 minutes and told it might be an option. Unfortunately we had to leave to an appointment. When we returned around 8 pm and spoke with Jose at the front desk, the issue became his response. We stayed at La Quinta on Christmas, and it ended up being such a comfortable, relaxing stay! The room was spacious and clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Honestly some of the best sleep we’ve had at a hotel! ||And a special thank you to Beza, who was so kind and welcoming, especially on Christmas Day. They made us feel genuinely taken care of, which made the stay feel extra special!||Would absolutely stay here again!

What a nice place. I walked to downtown then grabbed a good meal at the taco shop next door. Very comfortable bed too. The breakfast was the standard but everything was a cut above. I will stay here again.

Positive: Excellent location, good breakfast, nice staff, decent room, easy parking. Negative: $25 parking per night, there was a huge party in one of the rooms on our last night that continued past 1am! The rooms are huge (good), but could use a separate table and 2 chairs in the "wasted space". Need to "program" the elevator better.

Had a great view of the side of the next hotel and the room had a weird renovation or paint smell. The bed frame immediately bent down when I sat on it. Also missing a table and there only was one chair for a two bed room. It’s clean and has basic amenities. The pool and gym is open for a good length of time. Checkout is at 11 and in at 4 so time is limited. Parking is also 25 bucks a night. That should be included in the price.
