What a wonderful place to call home for a week. The location was perfect - quick walk into town. The staff was welcoming creating a homey environment for everyone. Spotless with beautiful bathrooms. Quiet. Breakfast offered something for everyone. I was there over Thanksgiving so each night when I returned home the living room had apple and pumpkin pie and chocolate chip cookies. A warming fireplace in the gathering room and always snacks and drinks. I can't imagine a better place on island. I will be back.

DO NOT BOOK HERE. We had to cancel our stay after a friend in our group suffered a serious fall that required emergency surgery made more complicated by a newly classified high-risk pregnancy. We reached out to the hotel multiple times — Wednesday (the day of the fall), Thursday, and twice on Friday — explaining the situation and offering medical documentation. Each time, the front desk staff was kind and seemed understanding, but told us only the manager, Alicia, could make a decision about issuing a credit. Despite repeated attempts, the manager never returned our calls or spoke to us directly. We have long been coming to the original Veranda Place, which oozed history and charm and great service and gorgeous interior design. After it burned down and was rebuilt, we were curious to see what v2.0 looks like.||Well, now we have seen and im sorry to say it doesn’t come close. While the physical appearance is similar, it ends there. The place has been stripped of all its charm. The service is lackluster - the check in counter was almost always empty. The elevator was broken and we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs. While we are physically able, not all the guests were and it was painful to see older guests clutching the bannister to come down. We spent the week before Labor Day at Veranda House and enjoyed the hotel thoroughly. We had a problem with the reservation of our own doing and the staff corrected the situation more than equitably. If you like new and clean in a traditional setting I suspect you too will love this place.

A very enjoyable and comfortable stay with a great location and views! Gillian and Sam were a wonderful asset to the property. Only issue is that the elevator was out of order and Gillian was so kind to carry my heavy bag up and down! Didnt need for anything and would definitely come back...
