Mystic River Hotel & Suites

I had a great stay at the Mystic River Hotel & Suites—clean, quiet room with a comfy bed plus a mini fridge and microwave. The staff was friendly, check-in was easy, and the location is super convenient—just minutes from Mystic Aquarium, Olde Mistick Village, and plenty of restaurants. A solid, affordable choice in Mystic—I’d stay again!

(Pool is empty except for inches of water and brown algae) Dehumidifiers every where General appearance is dingy Building lock was broken/card access door didn’t even close which invalidated card access Smells musty Overall, not recommended.

Location was great! Checked into our room, room was dingy, smelled or musty/stale. Shower/tub was dirty, hair and blood stain in shower. They did move us to another room, hotel staff was responsive, professional and friendly. Second room was cleaner/better, sheets/blankets were dirty. Needs better cleaning staff for sure.

Checked in without looking too closely at the condition of the room....big mistake. My wife and I woke up with spider bites in the morning and actually found a spider in the bed (see photo). Proceeded to find more cobwebs under the bed and behind bedboard, along with hair and stains on the pillows. On top of that, their website advertise "modern amenities", and travel websites show photos of a pool and sauna. As you can see, the pool looks abandoned, much like the rest of the building and parking lot. There was no manager to speak with when we checked out, and my email went unanswered. When I called today to share the experience and ask for a refund, the manager told me I "should have picked a more expensive hotel if I wanted a perfect room", and offered me a $25 refund.
