My Place Hotel-Portland East, OR

I visit Portland every 3 to 4 months and stayed at My Place this visit for 5 nights.|The room was clean (passed the white sock test) in a convenient location with a friendly and welcoming staff. While the kitchen is not stocked (did not expect it to be), everything worked. The refrigator was a bit noisy at time, but not a big issue.||I stayed at the Rosewood and an Extended Stay in the area previously. My Place is much better. Some may consider the area sketchy, but I never felt unsafe. Plan to ||For a budget motel, it was a good value and I have no complaints.

Started out just fine until I pulled the covers back to get in the bed and I noticed a pee smell. After pulling the covers back i noticed there was a huge, dried, pee stain on the mattress cover. I called the front desk for a new room and none were available. I did get new linens but had to go down grab them myself and change the sheets myself. The staff didn't even apologize.

Positive: Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Negative: Check in was a nightmare. Only 1 clerk at the front desk and he was very slow. Finally got to our room and found 1 bed when we had reserved 2. Took another 1/2 hour to resolve the issue. Room had a nice kitchen but zero pots, pans or dishes. Weird.

We have stayed at this property three times in the past month. The staff is always very welcoming and helpful. Pets are also welcome for a very reasonable extra charge of $15. The rooms, public areas inside and out are spotless and well-maintained. Each room has a full size refrigerator, microwave + cooktop, and a variety of basic food items can be purchased in the lobby 24 hours per day. ||We highly recommend My Place Portland East if you are looking for a top notch no-frills hotel at a reasonable price.

I believe the registration person was Arthur and he was tremendous. This was our first experience at a MyPlace. The room was very spacious. Everything was as clean as could be. They have an onsite laundry facility, reasonably priced. As I told my husband, “there’s good news, we have a frig”. The next morning I told him, “there’s bad news, we have a frig”. Pretty noisy to sleep in a room with a frig doing its cycling. Oh, well - we survived. Great location to start a Gorge visit. Would definitely recommend.
