Mustang Motel

Fortunately, have no idea what the pillow are like...my wife and I like to find drive up to the door motels on our road trips. She called this place an hour away and the not smooth communicator insisted on a credit card to reserve the room (as if this was necessary.) We arrived and exchanged all the information and were proudly provided a key to room 101. My wife opened the door and said, "Oh my god no." I thought she was being a little dramatic at her cranky-ish, tired time of another day's travel and needed to have a look for myself. I opened the door and watched dust and other floaty material swirl around the crooked bed. I can't even begin to create a suitable combination of words to describe the smell. Went back to the office to tell our wannabe host we need a refund. He said

I would give 10 stars if I could. The owner is an amazing sweet old man! He really works with you and tries to understand the situation your in. The rooms are quiet, cozy and comfortable and you know your stuff isn't being vandalized or broken into. I could not be more pleased with the owners hospitality when we were in need of an emergency room. I recommend this place to anyone going through Gillette WY! Great prices and great coffee too!

Was a great rate, and really wasn’t the worst room motel we did on our trip. Rooms were clean and well taken care of. Cons would have to be the fact there’s only 14 local channels that are barely visible and also the bed broke all 5 of ours backs. Good local food available, loud busy sky ramp flows over it so can be some noise but manageable. Non smoking room was also smoked in at some point but the other room that was with us had a smoking and it was like nobody else ever tried doing something for the smell. Definitely not the worst place I’ve been to.

Loved this place. Was there for a few weeks. Inexpensive, clean and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure we we happy, even if we got in late at night. If we needed anything, the front desk took care of it right away. I worked nights for a week and they always check if I needed room service before coming by as to not disturb me. I would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity.

I just want to say that the Mustang Motel is a diamond in the rough. As others have stated, the staff is simply the best. I received a call from the front desk shortly after cheking in to make sure I was satisfied with the room. This was a nice touch.||||I stayed on a near zero degree night in January and was concerned about the heat issue mentioned in a previous review. The price was right, so I gave them a shot. I'm happy to report that not only did the heat work, the room was quite toasty and I even turned the heat down a little.||||I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but this family owned motel is an excellent bang for your buck! I'll gladly give them my business again anytime I'm in Gillette.
