Not the largest campground, which works for us. It butts up to a small airfield. We loved seeing the little planes. We walked down by the river. The camp store has anything you would need. There is is nice youth group camping area too!
The campground is on the smaller side but it's well maintained. Please note the campground is next to an airport and not far away from trains, so you will hear them. There is a nice playground that is not a far walk from any of the campsites. The trails around the park are on the easier side (even the rugged ones) so they are great for the kiddos to tag along.
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at Mounds! Very well kept campground. Bathrooms are nice and clean. We loved how far apart the camp sites are! We stayed at site #41. Mounds State Park is now in our top three favorite State Parks in Indiana!
Only stayed one night on our way to Texas. Looked a really nice place, campsites are open and not private. It's close to a small local air port and you can hear the trains But the park is beautiful with so many trails to explore.
Nice small campground. The perimeter trail is a good hike.
