Motel 6 - Santa Cruz

This little hotel was a real lifesaver during a transitional part of my life. Chris, the manager was was helpful and kept the place quiet. Their rooms are basic but had everything I needed, especially hot water. The housekeepers were really nice and were always able to provide me with the stuff I needed. For Santa Cruz, the prices are reasonable. Thank you Motel 6!

For the love of God do not stay here. Room smells like cigarettes, the walls are paper thin you can hear everything in the room and next-door, and a lot of the people that stay in this hotel live here permanently and it shows because they act like it. There were tons of dogs barking as there were dogs in multiple hotel rooms but what was making the dogs bark where the men walking back-and-forth across the parking lot beating on each other's doors using swear words and this was all happening at 11 at night. You won't get sleep, you won't be comfortable, and you'll feel sad for wasting your money.

The AC in this motel keeps shutting off every 30 minutes, making it impossible to stay comfortable. I even spoke with other guests who said they were experiencing the exact same problem, with some having to leave their doors open just to cool down their rooms. On top of that, the bathroom had a terrible smell that never went away. Very disappointing stay!!! I wouldn’t recommend this place until they fix these issues.

Got in the room and it was hot in there. Didn’t realize there was no A/C. Room was decent nothing special. I was surprised the tv and fridge worked but they did. Pulled sheets back and saw a some blood stains on sheets but not til my last night. Went to turn on light by bed and there were two pieces of gum on it. Oddly the cleanest roomed seemed to be the bathroom.

So the free parking is a lie .. they don’t even have enough parking spaces per hotel rooms . So if you get back to the hotel after 8 pm you have to park on the street, the street is lined with parking meters so every morning on our vacation we had to wake up at 7:30 am and move the car or feed the meter. The parking lot is also a v shape so if you park towards the end and another car pulls in you can back out . The room was fine . No bed bugs I checked . The free breakfast was Kirkland granola bars , warm oj and warm milk as they just place the pitchers on the counter with no refrigeration for hours . The coffee machine was broken the whole week I was there . And they had Cheerios . And twice I saw bananas . That was it . It was close to the beach like a ten min walk. It was right next to
