Mint House Tampa Downtown by Kasa

The rooms were great, but as soon as we arrived everything went wrong. First, the code we got didn’t work to open the door. Luckily there was a worker there who opened it for us. Next, the elevators were broken. I am recovering from an injury and this was not ideal to walk up several flights. Then there was the parking, or lack thereof. Even trying to “reserve in advance” proved to be impossible. They said to use a nearby lot, but that lot was for long term parking (month long) and when I tried to pay, it said I was literally unable to park there and I had to leave. The workers who helped me were Luis and Daryl and they were amazing. Then there was the issue of the washer. Overall a good stay not sure if they are still figuring things out being new in town. The elevator didn’t work for a majority of my stay so had to use the stairs, thankfully my grandparents were not with me this time. The rooms are nice and had everything you need, my washer kept tripping the breaker so had to switch it on and off 15 times over 3 hours to get one cycle done. if you like to sleep in the dark beware the blinds don’t keep much light out and there is a glowing wifi dish in the room that lights it entirely blue. Parking from the hotel is minimal but you can park on the street and pay from 8am-11:59pm then it is free. I’d stay here again for the price and location.

Based on the online reviews, I was excited for this stay. However, that changed upon arriving. The communication with the hotel management was not great at all. On day two of our stay, the elevators stopped working and we were not notified at all. No email or text. Another person staying in the hotel informed of this information. This sucks because we stayed on the 3rd floor and I have a knee injury so climbing stairs is difficult. There also wasn't any other accessibility/accommodations for those that could not take the stairs. The location is perfect for the arena and the rooms are spacious. However, management has a lot more to do when it comes to customer service.

Luis the maintenance staff was wonderful and there every day if you need anything at all. The staff at Kasa were also responsive. Great place to stay if going to the arena for a show or river walk has many places to eat or drink.
