Mid-City Motel

I will say the Manager Melissa is amazing, kind, whole hearted, and basically superhuman! Cannot say enough good things! I have a problem, she will do what she can to resolve it! The rooms are nice and I can't get enough of the view of the freighters rumbling by!

I waited until literally the last minute to find a room in town, so I was really glad the owner let me check in at the same price as regular bookings, which is of course very affordable compared to other options in town. ||||The room itself was clean and the air conditioning worked fine. It's easy to see that the owner puts effort into making the motel a great place to stay despite it being an older building. For improvements, I would suggest doing some renovations to seal up some spots in the bathroom (e.g. the soap holder on the wall above the bathtub, some floor tiles in the corners). I found the Wi-Fi signal inside my room to be somewhat weak (the signal outside was much stronger), but once connected the speed was good. If you are looking for a 5 star place, this ain't it. But. If you are looking for a friendly staff, and tenants with quaint but comfortable rooms, than please do give the Midtown a shot! Yes, the rooms are dated, but they are really well kept, and comfortable. Our mattress must have been new, as it was just the right amount of firm, without being lumpy or saggy. The linens were clean and soft, and the shower was nice and hot, with good water pressure. Seriously, do yourself a favor and look past the general appearance. Give the Midtown a shot. You won't regret it!

The front desk lady very nice accommodating only complaint lots of Marijuana smell alcoholics kids running around no supervision. Loud music pretty much all nite . The room was ok beds updated. Location was great for walking to see ships or food downtown.

For the price it's definitely not bad. The room itself is outdated but for the price and last minute booking im actually impressed. The driveway in is a little rough ride but it's also winter and pure ice and there's not much parking and you can tell some people have been staying here a little bit longer than a few nights but no judgment. The staff was super friendly. The bed is a hard but super comfy pillows (I like a hard bed ny wife does not). The room overall was clean to what I could see. I'm not sure how other people are here all I know is I'm happy with everything for the most part. It is a little sketchy feeling but its my first time getting a room as an adult also so that could just be me.
