Best Western Sault Ste. Marie

I keep getting bothered by Best Western to write a review, and, honestly, I was trying to forget about the stay. My room was filthy and plagued with issues: only one blind inside the windows worked, so there was very little natural light. Trying to get the blinds to work I noticed the grime on the window sill. I moved the chair out from the wall, to get a better view of the TV and the leg fell off...clearly broken for a long time and under the stool there were pieces of potato chips. Next to the wall there was a lot of debris, like paint chips. Speaking of paint chips and missing paint, it was everywhere. My shower had big chunks missing and stacked up on the upper shower sill. We’ve been to better Best Westerns. The location was good, but our room wasn’t great. It was clean, but there was a huge crack in the window that was taped shut. The bathroom was very small, the shower has barely any breathing room. One of the outside doors didn’t close, so they were propping it open, giving access to anyone. We didn’t love that, as our room was right at the top of the stairs. The breakfast options were good, we liked the corn beef hash and mini omelettes. No complaints about the staff, they were all very welcoming.

Visited my best friend and Sault Ste. Marie and stayed here. Check in was easy and the rooms were very clean and neat.  Air conditioner, toilet, and shower worked well. 

We booked two king rooms. It was our first time staying at this hotel, but we stay in a lot of Best Westerns all over the country. This one had pluses and minuses. A minus for me is the location of the lobby. It is at the north end of the building, and so are the elevators. This could lead to long walks if your room is at the south end of the building. Our two king rooms were side-by-side. Both rooms had a fake electric fireplace. It wasn't cold enough to use it, but we tried in both rooms, one worked and one didn't. One room did not have a desk and chair for a work station. In that room, there was only a couch and a king bed. Best Western. The place where everything is just barely acceptable. Our room was ok, but in need of a refresh. The breakfast was bad. The waffle machines were down and the eggs cold. The coffee was not tasty. Would not stay there again.
