Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham York

I spent the night at the hotel for my birthday with family, the hotel lobby and room were clean, I had a room that had a door inside the room, that was an adjoining room next door, me and my sister booked separate rooms. She requested adjoining rooms, when we arrived we were told the hotel was fully booked and received rooms on different floors, not a big deal. The location is a quiet area about 12 minutes to beach|I had a regular room, which was small but had everything I needed. She booked a suite in case her son stayed over, which was very nice. The free breakfast was ok, not a lot of options, I didn't like the scrambled eggs, maybe powdered eggs and no yogurt, but plenty of seating, I would stay there again. The people next door were a little loud, but were quiet before bedtime.

We have been staying at this Microtel for many years. It is apparent it is under new ownership. Upon check in the desk agent told us we were booked in dirty rooms. We had to wait for her to see if the rooms were clean. There was cigarette smoke all on the third floor and in our rooms. I allergic to cigarette smoke and had an allergic anaphylactic reaction. We had to go back downstairs to get new rooms on the first floor that had two beds and were mot suites. The rooms were dusty, the floors were scuffed, the mattress had cigarette burns on it and we had to wipe mouse feces off the floor. The manager acted like he could care less of what happened. I know have to start my vacation with my chest and lungs burning from the reaction to the cigarette smoke. So much for a non smoking

Positive: Great front desk people, very clean, decent breakfast. We did not go in, but a great heated pool! Negative: Not really, it was great for the price.

The place was ok for the price. There is ongoing/quiet restoration of main hall. My room was overall clean, at loby level with view to the forest (bit creepy during late fall). Bed was ok, clean. The carpet remember better times of the hotel. Chair in the room was absolutely mess. Shower was old, yet clean. Breakfast was more than I expected. Receptionist looked tired and without eager to spend more words than necessary. During my stay in US I stayed in wide range of hotels from Super8 up to Hilton. This hotel is almost like some Super8 with better breakfast option.

Stayed for 6 nights on vacation. Room was nice. Love that they have laundry machines available. Breakfast was good. Rooms are not sound proof, so we used a white noise machine to help with this. Not sure how we would have slept without it. The hallways always smelled like food. I believe the staff room was on our floor, so if someone was cooking, the whole floor smelled like food. We don’t usually use housekeeping but since we had been to the beach, we figured it would be a good idea. House keeping only changed towels and garbages. Floors were left full of sand ( we tried to be as careful as we could but it is almost impossible to be sand-free coming back from the beach) nothing was swept. Sheets were left untouched both visits. Overall it was a nice stay. Room was spacious, parking was ea
