Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Huntsville

We checked in and was given room 108, walking in, one of the beds was not made. And looked to be like a throw up stain on the carpet on both sides of the bed. I immediately asked for another room because the sheets were also dirty. We were then given room 217, even WORSE! The smell of smoke, window was wide open, which is a hazard if you have small children! Pillows had fresh blood stains on them. Carpet was filthy. Nope! I got my kids my stuff and we left. The whole hotel needs some remodeling and NEW MANAGEMENT! This is totally unacceptable! We ended up going to the Holiday in across the street, definitely a 5 star view better than Microtel! Will never be going back to microtel again!

When I read reviews, I think to myself, "Some people are divas and they'll complain about anything". So I thought I'd give this hotel a chance. Every complaint you will read as you scroll through is completely legit. I feel as if I've had this shared experience with everyone on here. Such as: the overpowering marijuana smell, the filth, the gross breakfast, broken items, missing basic necessities, and not feeling safe. The air freshener is so strong in the lobby, it made me sick and had me wondering what it would smell like if there was no air freshener. When we opened our room door, we saw a broken curtain barely hanging on, it smelled musty, then we were surprised by a giant mirror that spanned across the entire wall at the head of the beds (once again I began to wonder, but this time

Check in was simple enough, but then any expectations I had went to hell in a hand basket. No remote to watch TV for 3+ hours. Cleanliness was not their strong suit but I will say the towels were fresh? Trash left in room that you HAD to see if you actually cleaned it from the last guest. None of the vending machines work but they advertise them. The "free" breakfast was free waffles and Activia yogurt. No butter, peanut butter, fruit, milk or even a generic brand of cereal. The lady at front desk that morning has ZERO customer service skills. Not even a Hi or a wave. Bed was comfy and water in shower was hot enough. But hey $60 it could have been worse...or could it? 🤔

Don't let the exterior photos of this place fool you. I can't believe Wyndham has their name on this place. We picked it because it was relatively close to the venue our event was at, and had a breakfast, without paying downtown prices. First, I took two steps into our room and went right back to the desk. It smelled like it had been smoked in for 20 years. Why would they put me and my kids in that room when I hadn't requested a smoking room? Do those even exist anymore?! So, the room we ended up in smelled much nicer, but...it wasn't. Exposed outlets and wires. Shower curtain, no liner. Empty tissues. Rusted hinges and vents. Bathroom door wouldn't close. Mold on the ceiling. Thankfully, we were only staying one night, but we were inspired to stay away except for sleep. Breakfast was abys

Positive: his hotel is a complete dump. Room is below substandard. I thought it was nice based on the exterior. Negative: These low budget chains have sold out to people trying to get into the hotel property game and they are running them into the ground. The room smelled like urine. The sink was being held up by a stick. The TV was mounted on top of the closet.
