Marriott Albany

I had a flight supposed to be landed in Canada. Instead, we had to stop at Albany overnight due to weather reasons. Receptions staffs here are super helpful and understanding of the situation, especially Sydney. My shuttle driver, Keim was friendly and caring as well for helping us with luggages. Overall, great experience!

We visited the Marriott in Albany for my son’s school event, and the experience was very positive. After dropping him off and taking photos, I spent some time at the bar enjoying a cocktail and watching football. The bartender was excellent—handling a full bar with ease while still being friendly, engaging, and attentive. From what I saw, the hotel’s entrance and common areas were very clean and well maintained, giving the property a professional and welcoming feel. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable place to spend time, even beyond the event itself.

Pros: Nice room, pool, gym facility. Cons: Room does not have a micro woven. You need to go to first floor every time you need to warm up food. During my stay internet dropped and was not available 1 night. Last but not least, when I checked out, their system was down. They said, they would email me receipt after the system is back. I called back after 5-6 hours and phone is not working.

When we arrived at the hotel, I was a little concerned by how rundown the front entrance looked. The inside was dated but overall would be fine, except that there were multiple giant garbage bins and towels all over the floor in the main lobby due to water leaking from the ceiling. Our room wasn’t bad but the bathroom was very dated with cracked tile, mildew, and hair that was not ours on the door and in the shower. We had dinner at the hotel. The food was actually decent but our meals came out one person at a time. My daughter was actually finished with her meal by the time my food came out. They did give us a free dessert after we asked when my food would be coming. We had a nice night on the outside patio. Arriving at the hotel entrance was a pleasant sight. Reception was welcoming and efficient. On entrance to room appeared nice. Spotted centipede on wall which my husband disposed of. Rest of room was clean. Next morning had the buffet downstairs, waitress was very pleasant. Went to buffet containers were empty and not refilled . This was 9 am and buffet goes to 11. Had to have a plate made up of the food in kitchen. Daughter came down still had not replenished the containers. The bar in the evening was under staffed for the amount of people, waitress was unable to know who got what and said I hope each of you will be honest and pay up. The main problem was under staffing.
