Homewood Suites by Hilton Albany

Nice, quiet hotel. Could use a small update. Good breakfast-get there early gym-has good equipment and pool-kids often in the evening. The elevators are strangely placed at the 2 back corners of the building. Parking is good and plenty of resturants nearby. Highway is also close. No remote for the bedroom TV, was told I would get one, but never did, not the biggest deal since there are 2 tv's in the room.

We stayed for two nights at this Albany, NY location. It's very conveniently located just off I-87, so it was easy to find. There isn't another hotel we would ever stay at when we go to Albany. |The rooms are spacious, meticulously clean, and quiet. The beds are among the most comfortable you'll find, and the pillows were so good that I asked where I could get one or two like them. |There is a pool and a hot-tub, centrally located. |The breakfast area is, quite possibly, the best in the state. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing and honestly upsetting. I drove from Massachusetts to Albany with my two children for a planned overnight stay so they could swim and have a special night out. Unfortunately, I accidentally booked the reservation for the wrong Friday through Booking.com. When I arrived at the property, I explained the honest mistake to the manager on duty, Angelo Cisario. At first, I was told the reservation could be canceled so I could receive a refund. However, I was then told it would only be canceled if I paid to book another room for that same night at a higher rate. Stayed in September and was very impressed by the staff. I don't understand why the hotel rating isn't higher. The room was impeccably clean. I was especially surprised that the coffee maker was clean. I have had annoying experiences in other hotels where I had to thoroughly wash first. The best part was the breakfast. Lots of healthy choices and the breakfast staff is just plain nice people that keep everything stocked throughout and clean. As you can tell, I appreciate when a hotel knows the importance of keeping things clean.
