Maddox Inn

Nothing could have prepared me for how dirty this place was, literally every surface— splattered walls & ceilings, filthy entry door that didn’t seal properly, mold in the AC unit, stains on chairs & bedding, dust on lamps & bed, a spiderweb with a live spider right next to the bed pillow. The bathroom toilet was stained, bugs on the floor & 1/4 toilet paper roll with no back up rolls given. Our ‘non-smoking’ room was next to a smoker who sat in a chair & chain smoked directly outside our door while talking loudly with her phone on speaker & letting her dog run around off leash & bark at us while we tried to check into our room. We left & did not stay a single night. Management did refund our money, which I appreciate. He said they would talk to house keeping. We have always loved A

Positive: This motel has an?old school? vibe that I like a lot. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The heater was super efficient and quiet! The motel gave us a voucher for a coffee and pastry from the bakery next door, and both were delicious. Negative: Nope- well, except maybe the door seal -, but the owner is steadily doingrenovations. Hopefully, they won?t do too many inside or outside. (The red berries on the bushes and sea grass was beautifully tended).

We came here as a get away trip. October, off season. Welp, a big nor' easter dropped on the area the day before. Places were closed, streets were flooded. The one nice thing was the Maddox. The owner is so helpful. Everyone is friendly. Super quiet and peaceful. Now, the Maddox Inn has seen better days but the owner is renovating as he can. So don't think you'll find a fancy place. But you'll find the rooms are very clean. The heat and ac works great. The water pressure for showers is fantastic! Biggest plus? This is the ONLY pet friendly place here! Not only is it pet friendly but it also accepts big dogs. Our pups love it here. They got treats from and employee and since its an old school motel there were no pesky elevators. Just beautiful walk out freedom. I'm looking forward to seeing

Another anniversary come and gone this past week. 6 years and always celebrate at Chincoteague where we were married. Have stayed at the Maddox inn the last several years. Room always clean and love the gas grills for cooking dinner. Anything we needed for the room was taken care of quickly. Wonderful coffee and pastry included! Well be back again next month. 😀👣🤙

My Girlfriend and I took our FIRST trip together to the beach. I have been around beaches all my life but she moved here from Green Bay WI. She wanted to see the east coast beaches. First upon arrival the lady that checked us in ( one of the owners) was very friendly and helpful. We came from Shippensburg PA so we were tired and hungry. She told us about the restaurant called "Steamers" that was close by. Wow they have some great food! Our fridge went bad so we called the front desk . We went out to get breakfast and when we got back we had a new fridge all set up. The neighbor and Vietnam Veteran Chuck who lives next door is really friendly and a joy to be around.
