Louisville South KOA Holiday

My family of 5 has camped at KOAs across the country with our professionally converted 12’x6’ RV trailer (electrical, but no AC/septic). Upon arrival at Louisville South KOA, I checked in and waiting to be escorted to our campsite when we were approached by the campground owners who told us we could not stay because our trailer did not come from a factory with AC or septic.||I confirmed with KOA Corporate that no such rule exists. This KOA’s justification was based on “KY Health Codes” which they could not show me in writing. Despite offering to tent-camp with our trailer in storage, we had to leave and pay $100 more to stay at a private campground.||Nowhere on the Louisville South KOA website is this “rule” disclosed. We stayed in a deluxe cabin, it was fantastic. It was warmed up for us and April even gave us cookies at check in. The cabin was clean and spacious, the campground was clean too. It’s very dog friendly which is nice. The GM James is so friendly, we had a great time.

Stayed 3 week at this campground. The staff was fantastic and friendly. The facilities were new and clean. We used the showers often and they were nice and renovated. We also washed laundry and there was plenty of machines. The site was near to lots of restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations.Also, close to the highway and easy access to the bourbon trails or downtown. Overall, an amazing experience.

I stayed here for three nights in my travel trailer while visiting Louisville. This campground is very well kept. I stayed in early September. They gave me a warm chocolate cookie when I checked in and escorted me to the best spot in the whole campground I think. I was in the back corner, right next to the woods, and no campers on either side! How lucky am I? The shower house was fantastic and I enjoyed a couple nice hot showers. Notably, I did not hear any traffic noise at all during my stay. I Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Louisville area.

Got there on november 18th and they told us we couldn’t book any monthly spots until the 1st of the month. What? I’ve been to many states and many rv parks and have NEVER heard this rule. Their rates are very expensive so they made us pay $650 a week for 2 weeks and then finally gave us a monthly spot for $775 a month. When we got into a monthly spot it was absolutely awful. It was on a huge hill with terrible gravel and there was just no way we could even get our camper level so we asked to be moved. When we moved they made us pay an additional $100 for a “nicer” spot. Still gravel and unlevel this one just had a built in fireplace. So now paid $875 for the spot. That’s over $2,000 they’ve taken from us in a month and 1/2.
