I am a fan of older hotels, not the newer ones with lighter modern construction. This place was somewhat quiet, but you can easily hear people walking around in rooms adjacent and across the hall. And you can feel it too. It seems that these days they have figured out exactly how flimsy they can make a hotel with concrete, and they do that. The floors feel like they are not concrete though, they feel like they are wood joist construction or some sort of trusses. In any case, the room floors are like drums, and you can hear every step that people around you take. As far as the actual rooms, rooms are fine and the suites have a refrigerator that is larger than the usual hotel refrigerator, and has a good sized microwave. We have avoided the Home2 Suites brand for years because although we liked the suites, we did not like the breakfast. On our recent stay at Home2 Suites in Shepherdsville, we were happy to find a very good complimentary breakfast as well as a clean and comfortable suite. We would definitely consider a future stay at a Home2 which would be a good option for a longer stay.| |However, we were disappointed about two things on this stay:|1) the front desk clerk was not at all welcoming at check-in|2) we were not given the room type that we reserved -- received a 2-queen instead of a king and told that the hotel was sold out| |We probably won't stay at this hotel again, but we will consider this brand in the future.

I need to preference this review by stating that we found this hotel clean and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay right up to check out from the hotel. I went to the front desk to checkout (I am aware that I can leave my keys at the front desk and receive my receipt via email, however, I like to receive a printed receipt, and I also wanted to request two waters). After arriving at the front desk, I noticed two staff members talking in the kitchen area and one staff member restacking food and beverage items. I stood at the front desk for 5-10 minutes while both members continued their conversation, until another staff member noticed me at the front desk, the staff member then informed the two staff members that I was at the front desk. Nice new hotel, staff was happy and inviting. The pillows need to be changed out, flat and uncomfortable. Thank you for the EV chargers but disappointed this hotel chooses to put a fee of $0.3/kwh (Tesla to Tesla Charger) I'm already paying $200 a night for a room, it would make me choose this hotel over others if the EV charge fee was free; like many many other Hilton and Marriot properties.

Such a nice neat and tidy hotel, would be perfect if you needed several days. Cute places to sit outside, no indoor pool fyi for kids in the winter. Easy on and off w restaurants nearby. We hit it on a very quiet night.
