Louisville South Koa Campground

I am tired of paying sub par KOA campgrounds resort prices for poorly designed, built poorly maintained campsites. Today we pulled our 40 ft motor into Louisville KOA south. The gravel roads were bumpy and narrow A camp host led me to the site on a golf cart and led me the wrong way to easily back into the site forcing me to back around a large tree and deal with avoiding old car and trailer storage parking across the street. Before the trolls try to say I lack experience I would note that I have been full time in this rig for over 5 years, I have driven it over 50 thousand miles and park it in various sites 30 to 40 times per year. I get the rig positioned in the site and discover the back 20 to 30 feet of the site is unusable due to untrimmed branches on a fir tree. The next thing I dis

First KOA stay with the new rig. Check in was easy and we each got a warm cookie at the welcome desk. Staff is very helpful to answer your questions and friendly. Tye dye activity was fun and a unique souvenir. We missed Sunday breakfast but I'm sure it was good. Spots were spaced with enough privacy and even though we were there on a Festival weekend there was no riff raff at all. They even pick up the trash for you, nice perk. Next time we'll check out the pool and the bathhouse and update. Full hookups were a luxury for us this trip. Thank you for a very nice stay! 🤘

Great campground. Friendly staff. Lots of walking trails for the dogs. Follows the Salt River and has beautiful bluffs. There's a rock cave to look at also. The playground is huge. Only drawback is its along a flight path for the UPS hub in Louisville. Planes fly over every 2 minutes all night long. I'm a sound sleeper but light sleepers may be bothered

I'm not a huge fan of campgrounds. The planes fly directly over the campground. There are trains nearby. It appears that most 'campers' here live here. The guy next to us must have to be to work by 6 because his huge lifted diesel truck was running at 5:45am. The sign by the front door for late check in days no pets but everyone I've seen has at least 1 dog. Some seem to have separation anxiety in trailers near us. It appears that this place is open year round though i don't know how they keep the water from freezing. Lots for kids to do here. Bring lots of leveling blocks because most sites are not very level. I think $40 per night for our 30 amp and water was a good price.

Very Nice!!! Great place to vacation with the family while seeing the underground lights!
