Lincoln Creek Dispersed Campground

The dispersed campgrounds are located at the south side of paid campground. Turning left once you see the sign saying campgrounds you will find 22 of them. Spent the night there before Pyramid Peak, about 40 minutes drive from here. Pretty quiet on Friday night, got about 6 cars passed me, I was at campsite 1.

Amazing dispersed campsite just 20 minutes down the road from Aspen. There is a river that runs through and from a few of the sites you are able to hear the water rushing which is lovely. When camping here you are very close to excellent climbing and a dozen awesome trailheads. Not sure if this is true for all but our site was very dusty/ashy so I would recommend some extra wipes for sure. Also, 4wd is highly recommended or at least a larger vehicle as the road down to the dispersed sites is very rocky.

My daughter and I were there mid week in June. It was wonderfully relaxing. There was some confusion as to whether we actually had to pay. We thought it was dispersed camping. I ended up paying just because any funds provided I'm sure will be put to good use. The campsite that I paid for was not ultimately where we overnighted. We were on the quiet side (from the roaring spring runnoff waterfall). My daughter used my brown coffee mug to rinse out her watercolor brushes. Long story short, my brown mug never made it back into my truck. This is a special mug, and looks pretty cheap and plastic. It's not. It's made of coffee hulls and advertises a Vietnamese-German University Masters in Sustainability Urban Development (SUD) program. If anyone has found this, I would be so grateful to have it
