Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square

Hotel overbooked reservations creating chaos. Under-staffed for events. Main areas not cleaned, garbage cans overflowing. Ran out of bedding. Insufficient rooms with 2 beds. Parking around the block, long walk and 2 elevators from rooms. Breakfast was good but pricy. Sidewalks poorly shoveled, lots of ice and dangerous snow banks.

I rarely leave 1-star reviews, but our experience at the Lancaster Marriott during a dance competition was traumatizing for my wife and teenage daughter. On January 2, 2026, my wife’s bag was stolen from the hotel lobby. In addition to her cash, gift cards, and credit cards being taken her car keys were also in the bag, and her car was stolen from the attached garage.|The hotel’s “security team” was unhelpful and disengaged. They called the police, but when officers asked about cameras—given the lobby location and where the wallet was found—we were told the hotel required a search warrant for lobby footage. Positive: The bed was very comfortable Negative: The shower was barely warm. i called the front desk they said let it run a while. It never got HOT or even very warm. A multi billion dollar hotel should be able to offer a complimentary breakfast. Even a coffee and roll would have been something.

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Lancaster and near many attractions. The booking, check in, and check out was very smooth. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We asked for a room on a higher floor and with a view, if possible, and our room could not have been better! We were on the 9th. floor overlooking Penn Square! The room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and with all needed items, including bottled water. We will certainly recommend the Marriott Lancaster to family and friends and will stay again if we are in town.

What should have been an enjoyable weekend with a large group of friends was ruined by the service at the Lancaster Marriott. We always choose Marriott's for their reputation for excellent service, but unfortunately the Lancaster Marriott falls far short of that expectation. We booked preferred rooms six months in advance, but our choices were bumped by a concert held at the convention center that weekend. It was immediately clear that our accommodations were secondary. Check in was almost impossible and took forever. Receptionists, apparently overworked, were rude and difficult. Our rooms were not what we reserved.
