Lamp Liter Inn

We stayed in a renovated room and overall, it was lovely. The room was comfortable and cozy. A great location for a couple of days. Very close to downtown Visalia and Mooney. When we arrived to check in around 6 pm, there was a sign on the door with a phone number to call to check in. So, we called and were advised it would take a couple minutes for the front desk clerk to get there. It was a little cold so we waited a couple minutes then I decided to bring my car up to the check in area so that we could wait in the car, then the front desk attendant arrived. Overall maybe waited 5 minutes or so. Not terrible.

I made an account just so that I could leave a review. People need to understand how AWFUL that hotel truly is. As others have son, it would have been safer, cleaner, and more comfortable to sleep on the side of the road. We checked in around 10 PM., Exhausted. Our room smelled like mess. A few steps in the source was obvious. There was black, mold all over the shower and on the ceiling in the bathroom. There were bugs ground into the filthy carpet. Our kids had to change rooms because there was a wet stain on their bedspread. God help the person who brings a black light into this hotel. Moving on, the car alarm woke me up at 4 AM. I thought about investigating, but decided against it as I did not want murder to be the end of my story. All of this would have been enough for a one star revi

Positive: Room was remodeled and updated to the current interior design standards and room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful processing my reservation. Negative: The outside of the hotel building seems like it could use a remodeling and update to improve the structural appearance and quality. Second floor walkway in some.areas seem to be sloping downward making walking surfaces uneven and structurally unsafe.

If you want to sleep in a dirty, out-dated, noisy motel… this is your spot. My shower floor was covered in dirt when I walked in. I couldn’t walk barefoot because the carpets were so dirty… my feet were brown after a few mins in the room. I couldn’t sit in the one chair because of the unknown stains / residues on the cushion. I asked for a different room following check/in, and their staff said no. I asked for a refund to find a new hotel, their staff said the manager is not there to help, therefore no. I recommend you stay elsewhere.
