Lamberson Guest House

Staying at the Lamberson Guest House has become one of our favorite traditions. The house itself is beautiful, an 1870 home overlooking Galena and just a short walk from everything downtown, but what truly makes it special are the people who run it.||Chris and Resa Larson took over the Lamberson in September 2020, and we started visiting not long after. From the very first stay, they made us feel welcome and at home. Resa’s multi-course candlelight breakfasts are something we look forward to every morning, and Chris and Resa together create such a warm, relaxed atmosphere that you instantly feel comfortable.||The rooms are cozy, thoughtfully decorated, and incredibly comfortable, especially the custom king and queen mattresses. Our stay was top-notch. Chris and Resa have thought of every detail! Happy hour on the patio was the perfect way to ease into our mini-vacation and get acclimated. We stayed in "Maud", and the room was beautiful and nicely appointed. I have never felt such soft sheets! The breakfast both mornings were incredibly delicious, served with a smile by our friendly hosts. They had great recommendations on things to do, and restaurants to try, and everything they recommended was exceptional. I felt pampered and well-cared-for, and had both an interesting and relaxing time.

Excellent location, simply a short trip down the stairs to central Galena. So very comfortable, and well run! Resa and Chris are wonderful hosts. Coffee brewed early in the morning, delicious three course home cooked breakfast. We travel all over the world, and have lots of experiences to compare. Lamberson House is world class! Do not hesitate to book yourself into this quiet, classy, calm, relaxing place. You’ll love it!

It was our 3rd stay at the Lamberson house and each one has been a wonderful stay. We have been in 3 different rooms and they are all spotless you have everything you need and extras for your stay. The rooms are so comfortable and beautifully decorated. It feels like home. |The views from your room or the front porch are wonderful!|The shared spaces are inviting you have coffee, tea and fresh baked cookies all day.|Resa is a wonderful cook so breakfast every morning is delicious.|Chris and Resa the owners are so sweet they make you feel so at home and share their time with all their guests. My husband and I had the most relaxing getaway at the Lamberson Guest House.|The charm and history of the home was so lovely and comfortable. Chris was the most gracious host and offered so many extras to make us feel pampered. We so enjoyed the beautiful views from atop the hill. The breakfasts were especially enjoyable spent with the other guests; not to mention DELICIOUS on served in the most gorgeous dining room! Afternoon snacks in the Parlor was a treat as well.|We loved our stay so much!!
