The perfect 20th anniversary! Matthew is a master of detail and hospitality. From the 3-course gourmet brunch to the "to die for" cookies and nightly wine, we truly felt like family. We loved the hors d'oeuvres so much that we bought the cookbook to recreate them at home for friends! The rooms are incredibly cozy, a true home away from home. Matthew’s local recommendations made our trip unforgettable. We can't wait to return to Jail Hill Inn!

The atmosphere during Christmas December was amazing. The owner decorated the complete inn and words cannot describe how wonderful it looked. The noise level was great and music was piped into the room which was great. The room was very clean and the amenities were excellent. Bottle of wine, Fuji water, daily charcuterie board, etc.! The location is perfect and just a few blocks to main street. We cannot wait to come back to the wonderful Jail Hill Inn.

We were very fortunate to visit the Jail Hill Inn recently, and are already hoping to return within the year. What Matthew has created needs to be experienced in person to appreciate the beauty of the inn. It was stunning to see his efforts reviving what the jail once was, into the beautiful inn it is today. You will truly want for nothing while in his care. First you are warmly greeted to the inn, provided with tips on how to get around town, as well as his top picks. When you get to your room, which is a massive suite that feels like an apartment, you will promptly be served an impressive tray of appetizers, wine, and sweets. My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights at Jail Hill Inn for our 10 year anniversary. Words and pictures do not do this place justice! Jail Hill Inn offers an incredibly comfortable room, delicious breakfast and snacks, and the most generous and hospitable host, Matthew. He made sure every detail was planned from the beautiful flower arrangement, personalized cake, and daily snack trays. We took advantage of the couples massage, which was just what we needed to compliment an already extremely relaxing trip. We loved our stay and enjoyed every moment that was spent inside our room. The inn is walkable to everything downtown Galena had to offer, an added bonus to an already great stay! We will absolutely be back!!

Matthew is so good at his job. From the moment we were welcomed with champagne and chocolates... to the "happy hour" tray of appetizers, this bed and breakfast was worth every penny. Each room is carefully procured with beautiful accessories and thoughtfully put together to make sure your stay is unlike anything you have ever experienced... and the three course breakfast!?
