Lafayette Inn

I stayed at the Lafayette Inn in Easton, Pennsylvania, the evening before Thanksgiving. The property is historic and delivers a clearly premium experience. Breakfast service was solid—thoughtful offerings, though not a full diner-style spread. Rooms were clean, spacious, and well maintained. Overall, the location is convenient, particularly for Lafayette College–related activities and events. A strong option for visitors seeking a refined, local stay in Easton.

We had a very enjoyable 4th stay here at the Lafayette Inn as we dropped our daughter off at school. I would characterize our stay as like staying with friends in all well appointed house, very different to staying in a normal chain hotel. In addition to the spacious and well appointed rooms, the 24-hours access to assorted beverages and snacks (fresh cookies, fruit, chips, etc.) makes it feel like home. Not having to make a trip out to the front desk to over-pay for a limited selection of packaged snacks. My wife especially appreciates the large parlor with a piano in addition to the short walk to the center of the Lafayette campus. Overall, Alicia and her team do a great job.

If you go to Lafayette, this is the Inn (hotel) to stay in. The rooms are very ckean and the bed is so comfortable. Akso the staff are very professional and always available to help you. Be aware, if you arrive after 7:00, you will need door code for that day. The breakfast is also an excellent offering here. There are woffels, bagles, cerial, eggs on request. And the room where you sit is roomy and has large wondows to enjoy the property that is ample and has fine gardens. In summery, this Inn is reasonably priced, perfectly located as it is near Lafayette College an easy walk away. It also has a wonderful atmostphere with a gas fireplace and sitting room complete with game boards. The feeling i had was that everything here exhudes quality and a good atmosphere. We have been going here for 25 years through four ownerships. Before the university took ownership, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The inn has taken a serious downfall in quality since the ownership change to the university. The once fresh baked goods and homemade dishes, Belgium waffles, classical music playing while we had breakfast, REAL flowers has now been replaced with breakfast items you could find at the Wawa down the street, that you have to heat yourself in the toaster. It’s more of a bed and FROZEN breakfast. They took away everything that made the inn charming and cozy and replaced it with holiday inn decor and vibes… all while being astronomically priced. The two people I met (over the course of two days) that worked at the Inn were great. However...this is the first time I've stayed here since ownership changed hands. This place was very understaffed (yes, I know it's a holiday weekend, but I've previously stayed here on holiday weekends). I was moved from the room I originally reserved because of lack of staff. The once excellent breakfast is no more (I've had better at Holiday Inn Express). Perhaps they will someday realize that cutting these corners will diminish business. They've lost mine.
