I recently relocated to Austin for work, and while saving for a house stayed at La Unica Monday - Thursday for close to 6 months. The rates on this place are lower than anywhere else in Austin, and the other places in their ballpark (mostly motor inns or extended stays) are definitely a lot more questionable and seemingly less clean. The staff here are very firm on their policies, which I appreciated as a single woman staying here alone during the week. You will also receive wonderful customer service, and if anything ever goes wrong (and during my time it hardly ever did) you’ll be taken care of immediately. The rooms are equipped with a fridge, microwave, and and in most instances a freezer too. If you get a room with a shower, let the hot water run a bit before assuming it doesn’t work

I paid $75.00 for TWO NIGHTS @ La Unica. This is an incredible price point. My room was clean and quiet. I had a comfortable bed (more comfortable than a more expensive hotel that I switched to La Unica from). I had a toilet and sink (no shower or tub), a tv, microwave, and fridge. Yes, this place is old, but it is clean and safe (they have security cameras, and a fenced parking lot with great lighting). It is in a family-friendly Hispanic neighborhood with quick access to gas stations, food, etc. It used to be a nursery home, which added to its charm for me. The grounds are pretty and well-kept. The staff that I interacted with were friendly and helpful. I find/found it amusing that some reviews were rating La Unica as if it were a 3-5 star hotel. It isn't. But, it is charming, interest

You are getting what you pay for. I had a private room, with a private bath (toilet and shower). The room was overall clean. As clean as it could possibly be. The building is old. Looks like it was a hospital long long ago. It has no central air. Only window units. There are communal showers, as I believe some rooms do not have private baths. And they are as gross as you'd imagine very old communal showers to be. The linens were clean, though low quality- scratchy and had lots of pilling. There was smart TV which worked great. And the window AC unit worked well also, but it was LOUD. Small microwave and a mini fridge. I have no complaints whatsoever, it was perfect for what I needed it for- somewhere to shower and toilet and sleep after ACL. Staff were extremely kind and you could tell th

I stayed there during Christmas Eve and Christmas and for me this year wasn't going to be a very easy stay. But because of the good service and the be understandable staff and the light music with the constant burning of great smelling Incense. I had no choice but to be grateful for my stay which was two nights. Great location for a peaceful time away from the noise of the city. Thank you La Unica motel 👍

This was a good stay for a vacation. Everything was pretty clean, nothing too fancy, but clean and put together with all the basics for a motel. There was a shower down the hall, a smart TV to keep me entertained while I was here, and comfortable bed, and a nice looking refrigerator that worked well. The staff were helpful and kind too. During the weekend nights it was hard to sleep because of the loud music that was coming from the church session next door along with the other music that was being blasted throughout the neighborhood; so the night noise was a bit much. Also it was hard to sleep without a sleep mask which I forgot to bring because of an outdoor light that would stay on at night right outside of my room, and it would constantly shine through into my room even with the shades
