La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield IL

Called around midnight to see if they had 2 bed room available, and what was the price. The manager on the phone informed me they had a room and price was $117. Drove an hour to get there, checked in and was informed the room was $190 not $117. Due to time and being exhausted from 9 hours of travel I took the room anyway. When we got up to the room it was 1 bed not two. The room was 78 degrees and even with the thermostat turned down to 68 it stayed right around 76-77 degrees making sleeping impossible. We went to leave I wanted a receipt and to discuss the inconvenience of the price increase and only having one bed. No hotel staff were around and I was unable to wait any longer.

Good for a night or two… Night one I was given a room with urine and feces stained carpet. Thankfully I was allowed to change rooms, but it took some convincing! Night 4 I came to the hotel after work and discovered the toilet paper and tissues had not been replenished. I went to the front desk to ask for some and was told I could only be provided toilet paper and would have to wait for housekeeping to bring tissues. Cleaning routine: the vacuum is used sparingly. It seems as though carpet debris is swept into a pile and then the pile is vacuumed up. The hotel seems clean, except the floors!

I would avoid this hotel at all cost. I don’t normally write reviews but I am appalled at the rooms were we were given. We had to change to 3 different rooms and then decided it was not suitable for my kids and I. The first room had mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom. We didn’t stay long to look for any other issues there. ||Room 2 at first I thought was going to work and I we were finally eating our dinner at 9:15 I look up at the window and there was more mold. A closer look at the window revealed several water damage all around, the curtain was water stained and ants were crawling in and out of the AC unit as well on the table and TV console. We paid over $500 for a "Deluxe Executive King Studio Suite - Non-Smoking". The bathroom is in absolutely reprehensible condition. The door frame is broken and there's a brown substance splattered all over (see photo), it legitimately smells disgusting permanently in there, like feces. 24/7 from the instant we walked in. Also the bathroom's sink doesn't drain, so once it got full (please see the picture of our sink full of used water) we have to empty it by dumping cup-fulls of dirty sink water in the toilet.
