La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rockford

I've stayed at this location many times and have always had a good experience. Everything always clean and orderly. Staff is extremely nice! Great location, close to everything.

This was my first time staying at a laquinta and I was blown away! For the price it cant be beat! I was able to work from the room with no issue with the wifi at all. Every single staff member i encountered was nice and pleasant. From the cleaning staff to the front desk to the night clerk to the breakfast lady - all incredibly nice and friendly. Rooms are surprisingly large and CLEAN. Breakfast was hot and coffee was always available and there any many restaurants you can walk to from the location. Or if you dont want to walk, almost everything is a 10 minute or less drive. Absolutely no complaints, I would stay here again!

Positive: Very quiet, good sized room, hot breakfast. Negative: The bathtub was old and the wall was cracked.

I chose the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rockford because it was more expensive than other nearby hotels, and I assumed that meant it would be cleaner and better maintained. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The hotel was extremely dirty and poorly maintained. See photos (and those are only some of the issues). Overall cleanliness was far below what I would expect for the price. The smell was even worse than the visible condition. The hallways, and even areas outside, strongly smelled of marijuana. There was a large industrial air freshener in the lobby constantly spraying an overpowering scent that didn’t mask the marijuana smell and actually made the air feel heavier. I was in a King Suite and the living room style set up with couch worked great for feeling like home. Not the most streamlined units, bathroom tub had caulking peeling and there’s slight water damage in the ceiling, but nonetheless it felt very clean. I usually hesitate to shower in hotels but no hesitation here. Dove Shampoo/Conditioner and Body Wash dispensers are all mounted inside the shower. WATER IS SOFTENED!!! A pleasant surprise that made showering feel luxurious. Staff were exceptional at every point we interacted with them, from check-in/check-out to breakfast. Hot eggs and sausage is served in addition to waffles, yogurt, cereal, bread, honey buns, oatmeal and coffee/milk/orange juice. Convenient location next to everything with easy access. Walmart is nearby for anything quick
