La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Batavia

I decided to treat myself to a night away and set out to find a local hotel that would accommodate my wish list. As I entered for check in I noticed how neat and clean the hotel was my only concern was that there was a bunch of small kids that were running around, and I learned that they had a hockey game that night and were there for that. Parents were unattentive and allowing the children to run around, prohibit customers on the elevator (the customer I saw was a gentleman in a scooter) and running in and out the lobby doors. Moving on the lady that checked me in was extremely friendly, and recalled a conversation that I had had earlier in the week with her stating that the only reason I was coming was for the pool. The staff here is friendly and our king room was spacious and very clean. There was plenty of parking and access into the building is easy. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable and the blackout shades were very effective. On arrival, there was a slight musty odor in the room, perhaps from the ac unit, but the smell mostly dissipated when the unit was turned on. Breakfast was plentiful and included scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, breads, muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereals, coffee and juice. The noise from other rooms was pretty muffled, except for heavy footsteps and those guests who “forget” and let their room door slam. I would recommend this hotel and I would visit again.

We stayed one night with our pup and had a really good experience. The desk staff was extremely kind and helpful, the room was clean, and breakfast was a “standard just OK” continental breakfast. We were psyched to find out the pet fee was only $25 after Hampton Inn charged us $90 the previous night.

Positive: Lady who checked me in was nice. Negative: Parking lot is full of potholes. Staff congregated in breakfast area to eat lunch (loudly).

The location is ok, right next to the highway but not overly loud. The shower was weird and difficult to turn on and the hot water was hit or miss but everything was clean, the staff was very professional and friendly. The pool was warm and the gym was a bit lacking in equipment compared to other hotels but clean! My only complaint is that there were no extra blankets or pillows in the room. I would stay again and just bring an extra blanket :)
