La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Omaha West

This m/hotel would have easily recieved an 8 from me, but I will have to stick with my low 7. I titled this review SUNBLISTERED LiFe SAVER. Anything that is sunblistered looses its structural integrity but still has functionality. The misrepresentation of available amenities is a sore, sore, reality. When your options are limited and your transportation cost $35 one way, and it's 20 degrees cold and approaching the dark Omaha evenings- you can't really hop around from place to place. I filtered this property based on Breakfast, I knew I would be boarding at this location for nearly 5days. The Brown Paper bag Togo is slap in the face. However, after arriving and experiencing nearly 80% of the 270 rooms here are occupied w/families- I GET IT. Still, i stand firm on the misrepresentati

Stay far away from this property. It is very run down and has multiple safety issues. Chain lock on room door not working as 1/2 was removed, large gap at bottom of room door to hallway, smoke alarm removed from wall and set on shelf (won't work if not clicked into system), large holes around 12 inches wide in screens on windows, no breakfast served as advertised, bathroom rod had more rust than metal left, overall dirty, paint job was sloppy with paint everywhere, dust caked vent, no stoppers in sink or tub, many screw holes in walls, molding on wall by floor made out of a carpet strip that was cut ragged and not even fully glued to wall - hanging down in sections, & the front desk person didn't care about any of my concerns.

Positive: The rate. Negative: Disgusting experience. Clearly a converted smoking room not properly treated, reeked of cigarette smoke: stayed 6 hours total and my clothes stunk. The manager's solution was a can of aerosol. Filthy room: stains, mold, missing drywall, no shower curtain.

I don't think I'd recommend this hotel if you can stay somewhere else for a similar rate. Or even if you pay a bit extra. We rented a non-smokers room and the first night they put us in the smokers section of the hotel. It also had a roach the very first night which was unsettling. The walls were dirty and so was the bathtub. There's no way to take an actual bath - not that anyone would with how the bathtub condition was. We thought maybe the disgusting smell would dissipate over night but it was too strong still so we had to ask for a new room the next day. The new room was much better. It was cleaner and didn't smell like smoke at all. It was also on the other side of the hotel which made sense. The coffee pot didn't work so no morning coffee. Management have changed the look of the foyer (lobby)..Beautiful ! Elegant ! ❤️ This didn't happen overnight -a work in progress.Seems to me the management is striving & accomplishing a elite/upscale atmosphere, fast check- ins.Valueing customer needs with prompt resolutions....Clean fresh scent in Hallways & our Room. I appreciate the comfortable beds just like home.....The Cable - could improve with a better package (Tiers) including family oriented channels.
