La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Austin Capitol / Downtown

This is not a frilly hotel and the parking is AWFUL. The place is dingy and in need of major updates and upgrades. You will see multiple things in need of service but it seems the staff does their best with what they got. Maybe the owners just don’t care enough. Carpet in my room was pretty gross so keep your shoes on. Tub and toilet were an eye sore with peeling paint and scratched up stained bowls. I’d say you get what you pay for with decent prices but then there’s the added parking fee NOT included in your reservation! Paid $40 for 24hrs on a Friday. The parking garage is a horror show. The only plus’s I got was it’s located near Moody Center for concerts, good water pressure and the staff was friendly and helpful. Sadly, this will be my last time staying here until they renovate this

I booked a room at this hotel for my brother- and parents-in-law. The location was ideal for walking downtown and to the Texas State Capitol. It was for the week of New Years, so we understand that there were staff limitations for room servicing; however, not getting the trash out nor replenishing toilet paper was not cool (to say the least). At least the staff was able to provide supplies for us to do it ourselves. Other than that, as someone who tried to book a hotel close by to them, hotels in the middle of cities should have parking included. It feels ridiculous that they charge you extra for parking.

Check in was great. Johnathan is super nice and courteous. The room was completely disgusting and smelled awful. Stains on the carpet, bedding, walls. We couldn't even walk barefoot on the floors because it was so disgusting. The bathtub faucet was leaking constantly and there was no water pressure in the sink. The fridge and tv didn't work. We left to go to a show and when we came back, our key cards didn't work. We went to the front desk and met Satan, the rudest old woman ever. She wouldn't tell us her name, but she was short and rude to everyone. We ended up having to call 911 to get into our room because she kept giving us keys that didn't work, which seemed deliberate. We ended up getting our belongings out of the room, with the help of the police, and decided to drive back to our ho

Positive: guy working front desk was friendly and helpful. Negative: no light in bathroom. remote to tv missing buttons. A/C wont turn off. No housekeeping had to ask for more towels and soap after 3 days. dirty stairwells, dirty everything.

I had a horrible time at this hotel. In both rooms we stayed in things were broken, plugs didn’t work, the tv didn’t turn on, and there were stains. I would not recommend staying here, even for the price and location. Our door lock broke every day, and we got locked out of our room for 30 minutes before we got help. The continental breakfast was gross, and the pool had too much trash in it for me to swim there. It was a nice pool area though, and I did some work there. Also the wifi didn’t work. Overall 1/10, don’t do it!
