Poor experience and no resolution after two months. I stayed at Knights Inn Boston–Danvers in September and had a poor experience: my non-smoking room smelled strongly of cigarettes and was dirty. Despite multiple complaints during and after my stay, the hotel and Sonesta Guest Relations failed to resolve the issue or offer a refund. My case was closed without investigation, and my follow-ups were ignored. I am now formally escalating this complaint publicly as there has been no resolution in over two months. I am seeking a full refund and will pursue further action if necessary. NOTE: the hotel has responded and disputed my claim, saying that someone visited the room and it did not smell of cigarettes. We were really disappointed with our stay at the Danvers Inn. We found a live cockroach in our room, which was honestly shocking and pretty upsetting. It made it hard to relax or feel comfortable for the rest of our stay. Cleanliness should be the bare minimum, and this just isn’t something guests should ever have to deal with. The experience definitely didn’t match what we expected based on the price and presentation of the inn. Unfortunately, this completely overshadowed our visit. We wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it unless this issue is properly addressed. There are plenty of bad reviews on this place, please believe them and save yourself the stress.

We arrived at Knights Inn after a long day of driving and checked into our room. The room was unclean and smelled - particularly of cigarette smoke from people smoking outside - and I killed a few roaches - one on the floor by the bed and another on the nightstand. The motel itself and the actual room were definitely more dated and in need of repairs than the website pictures would have suggested. My wife had work to do so immediately got online to use the Wi-fi. We knew that we could not stay, though, so I called the front desk to inform the attendant that the room was not satisfactory, that we would not be staying, and to request a refund. He told me that he could not authorize it and needed to wait until the morning for a manager to inspect the room and approve any money back. He
