Comfort Inn Danvers - Boston North Shore

We stayed at the Comfort Inn - Danvers in early November during our visit to Salem. The hotel room was clean, check in was easy and we couldn't beat the price. However, there were some negatives to our stay. Upon check in, we were provided an information sheet regarding things we should know about our stay. One of the items listed was that room service would only be performed during our stay if specifically requested. Therefore, we did not bother to put the do not disturb hanger on our door before leaving for the day and left some of our more valuable items in the room thinking that no one would be entering our room. Overall the location was convenient for a trip to Salem. Some of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was not really clean, dust and dirty corners in the bathroom, stains on the carpet. Bed was comfortable. Pillows were terrible.The breakfast was ok but there was no coffee in the urn on both mornings of my stay. We waited about 10 minutes on day one. By the second day when I got a coffee tinged water we told a staff member. She started to argue it was coffee, realized it wasn’t took the pot, laid it in the room by the food, and there it sat. She was unhelpful and indifferent. I will not suggest people avoid the Comfort Inn Danvers Boston but I will only stay again if I don’t have other options.

**Edited to add** found roaches in the bathroom on our last night The place was run down and musty smelling. Overall, it looked dirty and not well kept. When we got to our room, almost all of our pillowcases were dirty and there were hairs in the bed underneath the covers. After telling the staff, the cleaning crew offered to only change the top blanket, not the whole bed which was what was dirty. The floors were dirty. There was no body wash provided - only shampoo/conditioner/lotion. There were hairs and unknown bug exoskeletons on our towels. The first night, the fire alarm went off right after we got in bed but stopped after a couple of minutes. In hindsight, I wish I bit the bullet and paid more for a nicer stay somewhere else

Positive: The beds were comfortable, the rooms were large with the kitchenette/suite. Staff was very friendly. This hotel was more comfortable and cleaner than other 4 star hotels in the area. A little bit of variety for breakfast each morning. Negative: We had 1-2 bugs a day in our bathroom (no roaches) on a corner room that I believe were coming up through the shower drain. Our first room had a very loud and broken AC sound. Staff moved us immediately to a new room, however.

There's nothing WRONG with it, but its definitely on the older side. It's clean, rooms are comfortable and the staff is great. Smaller property compared to many other Comforts we have stayed at. No bedside charging for electronics. Bedside lights have a switch on the cord and the windows actually open...which we appreciated since the entire hotel has an odor.
