Candlewood Suites Boston North Shore - Danvers by IHG

We have had an excellent experience, we will be back! The suite was very clean, a lot of room to move around, the bed in the bedroom and pillows were excellent! The pullout couch is to be expected a six inch mattress not the most comfortable but it was do able for a few nights for a young adult. Having the kitchen was a game changer for our short trip, I don't think I'll ever get a hotel without one again for short trips. It was extremely nice to have snacks and drinks at our finger tips. Staff were super friendly and helpful. People complaining about noise in other reviews...maybe some other rude guest were making it miserable but we found it was normal noise you hear when staying in a hotel. Not the worst, but definitely recommend going somewhere else. I chose this location as it was the most affordable near Salem city center, and had a full suite, which was nice. We got in late, and the overnight employee was kind to us, and accommodating. The laundry service was a nice touch, there’s a gym, but it’s pretty small and very bare bones. The building and room smelled “off,” but we tried to look past that. But then there were a lot of inconveniences that I don’t want to have for the prices we paid, as it was still quite costly. The light in one of the rooms didn’t turn on, there was no soap for the bathroom sink, the dishwasher was completely detached from the cabinets, there were dried crusty bits on the closet door, the bathroom cabinet squeezed any time you bumped it, and the m

they started doing construction in the room next to mine around 9 AM with no warning.||Hammering on the walls nonstop.||Woke up and freaked out my dog who is recovering from surgery (this is why I got the room so she didn't have to do the stairs at home)||Went to the front desk because I thought it must've been a guest acting unruly but now they just decided to do construction to install new tile while guests were sleeping on either side of the room. ||They offered to take off part of my rate for the day as if that excuses anything. ||stay anywhere else if you want peace and quiet.

So I waited to write this review simply because I was trying to let a negative situation become positive. However I think I waited almost 6 months with no resolution. So I was a traveler( Jan-April) and picked here to stay. Now Catherine was more than accommodating! She had a very welcoming spirit as well as some of the front desk workers. The staff was kind to me and made sure my stay was smooth. Now my complaint is against my check out process and the manager. I was informed that because I was staying 90 days/nights I would receive my taxes back. Well that was roughy $800 to receive back. Initially I was told that they would reimburse you as soon as you check out. Well that didn’t happen. I went about a month without receiving it and when I would call the manager was really never availab

I was skeptical at first about staying at this location due to some bad reviews. We decided to take a chance as we had a reward night coming to us. As it turns out, we had a very clean room on the fourth floor that was also quiet. The only negative for us was there was no table in the room for two people to eat at. I’m sure the larger suites probably do have tables. It had a very good shower, a comfortable bed and a recliner. We tried to check in soon after 3 o’clock, and it took about 15 minutes because they weren’t aware of which rooms were available. It Tied us and another guest up for a while. otherwise, we would definitely stay at this location again.
