Island Sun Inn & Suites - Venice, Florida Historic Downtown & Beach Getaway

Each time we stay here, we are welcomed with open arms. The rooms are immaculate, well kept and always comfortable, - from the fresh sheets and comprehensive cable service, to the properly working A/C, the clean bathrooms, free wifi, the microwave and the like new furniture (some places only have broken fixtures and bad lighting, not here!). This is NOT a 2 Star hotel, most assuredly! It's like a very cozy and neighborly 4 or 4.5 Star hotel, but there's a definite need for fair reviewers, because this place is a Real Diamond in the Weeds! The courtyard is open, idyllic and peaceful away from the prying eyes of the street. There's parking for each room. Great place to spend a few days in Venice. Pool was beautiful and rooms were perfect. Nice A/C and attached Blue Island Bistro was perfect for breakfast or lunch. A short drive to the beaches and we walked to downtown. I’d stay again. Can’t beat the price and location.

Positive: Park right outside your own door, back doors open to pool. The barefoot guy in office was contagiously friendly. Negative: Tub was clogged, the bathroom window was broken and stuck open. I killed 3 different types of roaches in the same room, and also had one climb up my leg while in bathroom.

The hotel is not new, but it has been remodeled. It’s not a luxurious hotel, but it’s super quaint and in a great location. And the price is definitely affordabl. Parking in front of each room. Nice courtyard with a pool. Someone came and straightened my room and brought clean towels every day for the three days I was there. Super friendly couple running the place. I highly recommend it. It will be back my next vacation there. Attached bistro has great food too. Close to shopping is a plus.

We originally planned to stay a week but unexpected circumstances shortened our stay. The staff was very understanding and helpful. Our room was clean and well appointed. Housekeeping staff pleasant friendly and helpful. The pool and courtyard area is well maintained. The attached Blu Bistro was delicious for breakfast andlunch.
