InTown Suites Extended Stay Austin TX – Research Blvd

Stayed for 3 nights and went in with low expectations. For the price point this place was leaps and bounds above what i expected. Felt safe, the housekeepers greeted me evertime they saw me in the halls. The check in was easy and the lady checking me in was very nice. Overall great, have to come back for work in a few weeks and will stay again.

Had I read the reviews I wouldn't have stayed here. I booked 2 weeks and only stayed a night. The day i checked in the room smelt of cleaning supplies because it had just been cleaned. It was the next morning that I woke up extremely nauseated. It was when I walked out of the room and walked back in that I noticed the horrible cigarrete smoke smell. They advertise as being non smoking but the guest next door was a known long term guest that was a smoker. This information was given to me by the front desk clerk. I explained that the smell was making me sick and asked to switch rooms or get a refund. Well there were no vacancies and there was a no refund policy. If a cheaper extended stay is your only concern, you have found it. Keeping in mind you WILL be getting what you paid for. If you are meaning to stay somewhere reasonably appointed, somewhat modern, and expecting be treated as a guest, this is definitely not the place. The manager here is singlehandedly working to prove to the rest of the industry that they have it completely backwards about every principle of the hospitality business. Being polite and helpful is not in this gentleman's repertoire.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. This is the worst hotel you could ever stay at. The so called manager was absolutely rude, no customer service skills whatsoever. We were not notified at check in that housekeeping only comes once a week, and that we would only be supplied one set of towels and one roll of toilet paper. There's never anyone available before 11am or after 7pm. A smoke alarm in a neighboring room was going off for two hours one morning, and there was absolutely no one to call. Management was supposedly supposed to show up while we were there to "check the cleanliness of the rooms" but never showed up; I was very upset by this because I wanted to make sure my complaints were known to whoever runs this hell hole. Thank god the manager refused to honor the stated check in time. This allowed to walk the property and read reviews. The building is in bad condition, the staff attitude is somehow worse than that. Check in time is 11 am, I showed up at 12:30 pm and was rudely told I had no reservation and to come back at 1:30 and see if my booking had "gone through " I couldn't pay the cancelation fee fast enough and go to a place that feels like an actual hotel and not a prison run by a lunatic
