Inn On The Square, an Ascend Collection Hotel

We did not stay at the hotel as we are locals. I would warn about having dinner in the Fox and Hounds bar with other couples! Two times we waited two hours before leaving the last time we waited an hour, and our friends were served, and the rest of us were not. They seem to have kitchen issues when you are more than just one couple. The manager also did not care so we will not be back..

We were very pleased with our stay and will recommend to others. The hotel is a full service facility and is very conveniently located. The staff was very nice as was the room where we stayed. The only two things that were less than perfect were that there was no stopper for the tub (but most places don't even HAVE bathtubs!) and that the lady working in the restaurant for breakfast needed more help, in my opinion. She was very nice and worked as quickly as possible. All in all, it was a very nice stay.

This is a place I'd surely stay again. It costs what the Hampton Inn costs but it's cleaner and nicer. They do not have complementary breakfast, but my mom and I love to Door Dash when we're out of town. They have 2 restaurants within the hotel, a bar and grill and a fancier option with reservations. We went to the Fox and the Hound(the bar and grill). The drinks were reasonably priced and the food we ordered was good. I got the black-eyed pea hummus randomly because the hot dog was not available. It was really good!!! The wings were tasty. The service was good despite it only being one guy on Halloween weekend. He was friendly and attentive. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly, the rooms were blacklight clean, and it is convenient for families, funerals, and downtown experiences.

Wedding reception in ballroom was noisy until 10:30p. Slamming doors in hallways was loud, not very quiet in the rooms. Bathrooms could use shower upgrade, water pressure intermittent and old tile/shower head. Chop House restaurant was good, service at dinner not so much. The space was more like a conference room than a restaurant. Ballroom for events very nice, but makes for a noisy atrium in lobby. All in all we were happy w our stay.

While parts of the hotel could still use some touching up, I cannot speak highly enough of the staff you have working at this hotel. Simply fantastic staff, honestly. I travel and stay at a lot of hotels every year with work, and I cannot think of a staff that I have seen that is more pleasant to interact with outside of high-end resort settings. I will only stay at this hotel when I am working in Greenwood.
