Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland

My wife and I travel a lot for business, family, and friendships. Almost always stay at Hyatt. This is one of our top favorites. Staff engagement is exceptional, a great team all round. Jeremiah and Michael on front desk truly outstanding consistently. We recently stayed 10 days and the feel good warmth when we walk in didn't wear off. Excellent downtown location. Chic decor, great breakfasts. A clean, happy place! Well done everyone.

We are locals and do staycations regularly here. It’s consistently the best Hyatt in town for service and price. It’s right near everything interesting downtown. We love the bar and the main bartender at night (Annie?). Alyssa at the market in the morning is wonderful. The front desk are some of the nicest and most helpful we’ve experienced at a Hyatt, which is a high bar. The new globalist breakfast is a big miss, though. The changes to the menu and food quality are a let down especially considering how good it used to be.

Hyatt Centric was a super clean, safe, and amazing hotel. It was located in an excellent part of downtown (right next to a Stumptown Coffee!). The hotel is designed in a very sleak manner with spacious and clean rooms. The staff were very helpful in answering questions and opening a wine bottle & giving wine glasses to drink the wine in my room. The price was excellent for the quality of the hotel, in my opinion, and I would definitely stay here again. Traveling as a married couple with my parents.

Nov 2025 stay for 1 night: 2 adults Great location downtown with the trolley stop across the street, plenty of coffee and good food options very close by (Japanese ramen, katsu sandwiches). Fun lobby with a cafe and quick food togo. Two check-in desks, luggage hold is available. Ice machine and water dispenser were in the lobby, but I heard that sometimes it is moved elsewhere. The room was nicely lit with the huge window. Rug on the concrete floor. I thought the desk was quite contemporary and fun. Plenty of outlets. And a strange frosted glass shower... The walls are ridiculously thin. There was a large group getting ready for the night and we were nearly in the room with them, given the loud music though the wall. A big group of us were in town for a national bball tournament. The hotel is nice. But one of the worst experiences under hotel hospitality I’ve experienced. A “drunk person” pulled the fire alarm around 2am, which resulted in the staff shutting it off every 20-30 seconds and this went on for about an hour. Ppl were evacuating, there was zero communication, no idea what was happening, and still don’t know even after checking out. An hour of sleep is sub par- especially with kids having to compete during a huge tournament the following day. Very disappointing on communication, and no compensation. I was charged over twice the amount for valet parking, was told it was a mistake, still have yet to be refunded or hear any communication on this. The restaraunt in the hotel was a disaster. Multi
