The person who greeted us just now, I spoke with on the phone a little earlier and was so kind to my partner and I when checking in. It made me want to write a review the second we got to our room. For one, the room is very exceptionally clean and comfortable. The price was a great value especially being that the condition of the hotel is so great! Again, what really impressed us was the incredible service from the front desk attendant on 1/1/26. Possibly a manager behind the desk. He reminded me that a little bit of connection and humor go a very long way when working with guests. If you’re reading this, come visit Waitsfield! Thank you for passing along a smile!

Positive: Easy check-in. Responsive staff. Loved the decor of the room. Bed was comfortable. Very nice bathroom very clean room. and we really enjoyed our stay Negative: Not crazy about carpet in room. It was clean but tile or laminate would be best.

If you are looking for a place to sleep and shower, this is fine. It’s all we needed over the Thanksgiving holiday. We did have trouble with the room temperature and the bathroom was FREEZING. Totally unheated. The tub looked like something had been spilled in it and stained it. This is clearly a budget place. But it was clean and conveniently located.

I realize 5* reviews should be for Four Seasons or Peninsula hotels, but HJ Portsmouth New Hampshire really delivered. Very helpful hotel staff. Updated and comfortable rooms with a mid-century modern look. Continental breakfast is nothing lavish but has the basics to get you through to your next meal. Easy and free parking. An especially great value for an otherwise expensive city. I believe the quieter rooms are even-numbered. Highly recommended.

The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The Inn is just off of a major freeway. If you're not accustomed to roundabouts for a major freeway as I was, traveling around the area can be a bit nerve wracking, but the Inn is close to many activities and shopping areas.
