Howard Johnson by Wyndham Albany

For the price I paid (less than $100 for the night), I was totally satisfied with my experience. All I wanted was a clean, quiet room and a comfortable (not too soft) bed. And that's what I got. Plus easy parking and easy access in and off the interstate. The hotel appears to be managed by a family, and they deserve to be congratulated for their efforts to make an older (vintage) hotel into an affordably clean spot for a good night's rest.

Positive: Nothing Negative: Room was dirty, air conditioner vents extremely dirty. The sheets had a strong smell to them, bleach maybe. Made me nauseous. Breakfast in room 118, really. The whole place was disgusting. Sorry.

DANGER- I rented a room here for two days with my family including two small children under the age of 4. We were given room 207, it had no heat!!! The heaters didn’t work! They wouldn’t transfer us or fix the problem. The wall of the rooms are glass. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. We could not remain in the room for a single night. They refused to pay us back anything even our security deposit?! We stayed in the room for less than 5 hours before it was too cold to remain. Not just scammers they are dangerous and should be arrested!!!

I wish I had read more reviews before I booked my room. I was in town for 2 days on business and was sorely disappointed with this place. The carpet and loveseat were both heavily stained, the furniture was very outdated and grungy. I figured it was what it was and I stayed for my two nights, but the worst part was waking up early the 2nd morning to discover a bed bug in the bed. I couldn't leave fast enough. When I alerted the motel, they didn't seem to be too phased by it, saying they treat for bugs. Well, they may say that, but it's not working. I would stay far away. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but when it comes to cleanliness and bugs, I am going to speak up because nobody wants to bring those things home.

Eh, if you need just a cheap place to sleep for the night, it's fine. Quiet location. Didn't see any bed bugs and I checked before we entered. Dirty carpet. Room smelled musty. Well worn mattresses. Check out time is 11:00 am, but the cleaner started to open the door as we were getting ready to leave at 9:00 am. But, we slept.
