Hotel Indigo Gainesville-Celebration Pointe by IHG

My experience raised serious concerns about professionalism and billing transparency. I called ahead after leaving the hospital where my daughter had surgery and was told a room would be available at 2 PM. When I arrived , Destiny — who was the front desk clerk at the time — did not acknowledge me for several minutes and then informed me that no rooms would be available until 3–3:30 PM (with check-in at 3 PM). Receiving conflicting information during an already stressful time reflected a lack of communication and customer care. This is the story of how one employee can absolutely ruin the reputation of a hotel. I stayed here last year and had the best experience. When returning for NAIA Indoor Track Nationals, I had no doubts about staying here again. There was an issue with the hotel being able to locate my reservation. I shows them my reservation directly in my IHG account and they said they would have the staff the next day work it out. I never received a call or any communication so I assumed they had it sorted as they had the original reservation number. Instead they charged me over $1100 for a two night stay, even though my original booking was under $400. I came for 3 nights and the beds were comfortable. Very clean room and bathroom. The breakfast was good and had keto options which was great for me. I also used priceline for a deal and would recommend that in the future to get a better room rate. The location was close to stuff and the highway. No complaints here. Very pleasant stay all around.

Positive: Convenience to shopping center and the excellent, friendly and accommodating staff. The pool and gym were very nice as well. Negative: We stayed one week on business and there was no microwave to prepare our own meals.

Poor customer service. We booked this hotel with points. While checking into the hotel, after I used my CC for incidental charges it showed the full price of the hotel charged to CC ($239 for standard room). I asked why my points were not used. He stated that they would fix it in their system. After I checked out, the charge was still on my CC. I spoke to the manager. He stated that the person who checked me in deleted the special code they receive to charge our room in points. He did not apologize or offer any help with this situation. He said we would need to contact our CC company to have it resolved. This was our first time staying at this hotel. We stay in Gainesville once a month and we will be coming to Gainesville every month for the indefinite future for appointments. I
