Excellent no frills hotel! Helpful front desk service, room was VERY clean, and the accessible room was actually wheelchair accessible! For the price, we were very happy with it. Quiet, safe, and comfortable enough. McDonalds, mini mart, and Starbucks literally next door, and 10 min easy drive to downtown Portland. Only downside is it's a little hard to find the first time, but once you know where it is it's easy. Would stay here again!

There were some overlooked cleaning items in our room, but nothing worth changing rooms. We were right across the hall from the elevator, but surprisingly I never heard sound from the hallway, or from the rest of the building. This was a much less expensive stay for a single night in this area. The man at the front desk moved very quickly and efficiently to get us checked in, despite not having use of one arm. He was very friendly and thoughtful in the checking process. The property in general is older, and not updated, but my eyes didn't care while I was asleep. As others mentioned, there are several convenient food items located very close to the property; McDonalds, Starbucks, Round Table Pizza. If you need a less expensive option, this could work well!

Kicked off the trip by my truck getting broken into in the parking lot. but the camera stops working around 4 or 5pm so no footage was had. also the whole entire 3rd floor smelled of mildew or rotten Indian food. it was a profuse smell. in hopes to clear the smell from my room. I opened the windows, but the fan didn't work. I checked out that night I couldn't stay due to the horrible aroma and fear that my truck was going to get broken into again. the front desk dude assured me I would be refunded by esmerelda. it's the next day esmerelda called me back and told me I could get a partial refund. because she didn't think my room smelled bad. now im waiting for an authority with the ability to refund 135$ because esmerelda refused to give me a full refund. Was very clean, and comfortable. I felt very welcome from the minute I walked in. They were very accommodating to me and our little guy. We had to have surgery up at Doernbecher and it was nice to be able to stay close to the hospital. There was awesome pizza parlor right next door which was exactly what our little guy wanted for dinner. They were going to have be on 3rd floor and I asked for if it was possible for 1st floor and they were amazing and getting us into a first floor room. Wonderful price and such a nice room.

Everything was amazing, Esmeralda is the best. They definitely stepped up their breakfast game. Definitely coming back.
