Homewood Suites by Hilton Portsmouth

Just stayed here on Dec 29, 2025..so impressed! Right near downtown..we walked to a good mexican restaurant..then to the music hall to see a comedian..the room was great! Spacious..great shower..full fridge & freezer..beds were nice..front desk & valet..super nice & helpful..the breakfast was the best!!! U can make breakfast egg wraps with all the fixings..waffles..even coffee was good..I took an overnights to go lol..totally wanna come back in the summer for a girls trip..they even have a cute lounge area with beer on tap on Wed night for 90 min..i never write reviews but heard this place wasn't rated well for its opening few months..here to say..everything has been fixed..10/10..homewood suites hilton portsmouth downtown

We stayed at 3 different Homewood Suites hotels during a recent New England trip. All three were basically OK, but each one had its own quirks.||Comments that apply to all three: The staff was very friendly and professional. The room (suite with 1 king bed) was OK at each. The room lighting was not quite bright enough for book reading. Each room used a different kind of HVAC unit, but in each case the only choices were quiet/stuffy and loud/frigid -- it was not easy to find a happy medium. The free breakfast seemed a little less tasty than in previous years, the eggs were only lukewarm at each place. ||The refrigerator in the kitchen was loud at all three hotels, but if we closed the door between the bedroom and the living area, the fridge didn't bother us at night.||The living area at the

I'll get straight to the point, I feel this specific Hilton Hotel is incorrectly named as one of the brands in the Hilton chain of hotels, period. My husband and I are Gold Members but will be Diamond in a week. We specificly book Homewood Suites for extended stays with our 2 dogs, 1 year old, and having 2 vehicles because we appreciate the consistancy of amenities that Homewood Suites offer. This specific location does not reflect the same amenities a standard Homewood Suites offers but it does reflect amenities you would expect from another Hilton brand. I would happily give this hotet 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact my family and I booked this location for an extended stay. I listed my reasons below starting out with why I personally feel this way. We specificly book Homewood Suites

Positive: location, most staff were very pleasant and eager to assist. Negative: On arrival, the female receptionist provided no greeting, she gave no/little eye contact, we seemed to have interrupted her personal phone call, she "barked" an answer when I asked "do you need to see my license", a very harsh first encounter.

Stay was okay. I’ve stayed at better Homewood Suites. ||First off the room I selected was given away which was not ideal because traveling with a newborn I purposely wanted to be near the laundry room instead I was moved to a different floor and basically given the oh well. We’re sold out deal. ||I needed to use the refrigerator and freezer for my babies food and both were gross. So we needed to clean this upon arriving late at night. ||Keycards did not work so I needed the front desk person to continuously let us into our room and yes even digital key wouldn’t work. This happened numerous times throughout our stay. ||Lastly the breakfast was lacking. Simply wanted a waffle and that’s not an option until the weekends. Crazy to me that a waffle maker which is standard at most hotels is not
