Homewood Suites by Hilton Gainesville

Service staff at the front are great. Rooms are clean and well set up. But you can tell this is an older hotel that's been remodeled, and they didn't sound proof well enough. You can hear every foot step of those above and anyone in the hall. The doors slam shut in the halls and housekeeping sounds like the FBI tossing a room when they are cleaning next door, opening ever drawer and slamming it. I was working nights, so all the noise was very disruptive to sleeping. Breakfast had a decent assortment each day, but other than the breakfast meat, and occasionally having grits instead of oatmeal (~1 day a week), there was no variety in the daily offerings from one day to the next, so if you're staying very long, breakfast gets a little repetitive. Making the reservation was easy, check in was even easier. Everyone was courteous and friendly. It would have been nice to have been told from check in that there was more convenient parking , closer to our room. The girl at check in said "right around the corner" this turned into all the way across to the back of the building. Minor, except for my 91 year old mother who was completely out of breath by the time we got to the room. Breakfast had a nice assortment, except that the eggs were lukewarm. The room had not been vacuumed, as there were cheerios on the floor in a couple of different spots. The door did not seal, light from the hall could be seen all around. Positive: We just needed a place to stay the night and continue on our way. It meet our expectations and what we wanted. Breakfast was decent. Negative: Bathroom dates and had some mold. Not bad just something I noticed.

The manager lady was very passive aggressive and not that friendly, honestly. Had some trouble checking in here but did not have trouble in other places, doing the exact same thing. The suite room itself just looks so old and outdated. The TV is old, the interior looks old, as well as the kitchen appliances. Bathroom, tub, specifically was not that clean. I found way too much hair inside it (I have a video). Some of the dishes in the drawers were not that clean, as I had to rewash them. I cannot tell if the dresser and Tv is supposed to be in the middle of the walk way and diagonally off the wall but there’s that. The wifi connection here, if it even decides to connect after multiple attempts, sucks. I am better off using my data. On the plus side, the bed is comfortable even with some s

12.28.2025 UPDATED REVIEW YES THE ROOMS ARE POORLY INSULATED AND I HEARD A KID JABBERING 😳 WHEN I WAS TRYING TO FALL ASLEEP BUT ...it did not distract me from sleeping.... Some photos were taken at lobby and mini-market located at the Hilton Garden in the back parking lot. 12.28.2025! Upon entry I was politely greeted by a smiling Trey! What an absolutely polite gentleman! Check in was swift and he had my room keys issued before I even located my reservation. What a gem! 💎 He placed me in a room conveniently located for me and I was able to get the car unloaded and take a short walk out the back parking lot to grab a quick beverage next door at their sister property.
