Holiday Inn & Suites Boston-Peabody by IHG

The only reason that I gave the hotel 2 stars was that the front desk was quickly accomodating when we had to switch rooms. ||Overall the condition of the hotel is concerning. They updated some things, but the elevators are nothing short of scary. I am not sure why they skipped updating them, but it was a concern that they might break while you are in them, they smelled terrible. The hallways were bit banged up as well and heading to the room we had some real concerns. ||The room itself was clearly updated. The first room we had was fine overall. On the surface it was clean and comfortable. However, we opened the fridge to put some water we brought in, and there was half a sandwich and partially consumed beverage in there. That was cleaned up, and it was late so we stayed put.

I see a lot of bad reviews of this Holiday Inn. I also read that it used to be a shelter 😳. I always check the bed first for bedbugs, and nothing. Everything was very clean, staff was very nice, shower had good pressure, microwave, fridge, and tv's worked great. I felt completely safe, and even tried to get in at a side door that you could only get out of. No sketchy characters, no dirty hallway carpets, no bad smells, and every outlet worked. There were USB ports in every lamp (there were 4 in the room), and the temperature control was great. I would recommend this hotel. I feel like it got a bad name. Maybe they worked on everything that everyone complained about, and that's why it's better. I would stay here again whenever my husband's band plays in Beverly. My husband is a diamond elit

Positive: It was clean Negative: the cable to the tv was frayed, therefore the tv did not work. When told to the front desk, they offered nothing off my bill.

It was pretty run down. The towel bar came out of the wall when I hung a towel on it. The room key cards kept having to be reprogrammed. The door itself was extremely hard to open when the card actually worked. The person that checked is in want very knowledgeable. I booked two rooms yet she only checked is into one so we had to go all the way back down to check into the second room. Where the heat didn't work so we had to change rooms. The pool wasn't open. That was a huge disappointment to the kids. It was the main reason we booked there. On the positive side the beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean. The breakfast at the restaurant next door was amazing.

My daughter and I spent one night here and I didn't bother checking reviews online first as I figured it was a Holiday Inn, it should be fine. Im honestly not sure what the deal was, the hotel was mediocre and the location is horrible. Im usually a go with the flow type of person but the issues kept adding up. When we got there I asked the person checking us in about the pool as it was one of the reasons I booked this hotel. She said the pool was closed as they were having issues getting it up to a good temperature that wasn't freezing cold. My daughter was really bummed but not a huge deal, things happen. We went up to our room and it was like stepping into a freezer. Our room was so cold. I cannot fathom a reason why there was no heat on whatsoever. I found the heater and the thermostat
