This would make an excellent OME star hotel. But, for a hotel at this price point, its ridiculous. Everything has a tired slightly seedy vibe. Everything from the public areas to the rooms looks like they are badly in need of refurbishment. Don't expect a quiet night - our room had a constant industrial noise.from the businesses nearby. And don't get me started on the most dreadful hotel breakfast in all of Portland. The food was room temperate. And the "cost control measures' we very evident - emerald green bananas, orange "Kool aid" for "juice. Sausages full of so.much filler a vegetarian could them. The whole experience was well below a standard hospital cafeteria. There are many other hotels near the airport which offer a MUCH better experience. Strongly suggest you avoid this faci

The location is very accessible to the airport. However, if a traveler’s goal is to experience Portland”, there are easier places to stay to achieve such a goal. With that being said, not at this price though. It’s not the most modern of IHG’s. The architecture and interior design features could use a facelift. The rooms are spacious and comfortable multiple travelers. Nothing glamorous, just a solid comfortable room. My room was directly next door to the ice machine, i barely heard it when it was utilized. I do dislike the added fee to park there while you are staying. The lot is massive, just as the price to the final listed price. Again, it’s not downtown; which changes much more to park over night.

Positive: Cleanliness. Safe and secure environment. Courteous staff. Negative: Should provide breakfast, at least a continental breakfast. The free wifi internet was painfully and borderline unacceptably slow by design (throttled down the speed) in order to market a faster one for a price.

My recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express Portland was frustrating from start to finish, and far below what I expect as an IHG Platinum Elite member. First, I waited 47 minutes at the airport for the hotel shuttle. After a long travel day, that kind of delay is unacceptable and immediately set the tone for the stay. When I arrived, there were no welcome bags/water available for Platinum Elite members. What made it worse was the front desk agent, Remy, who didn’t attempt to help or offer any alternative—just told me I’d have to pay $3 for a bottle of water. That’s not how loyal guests should be treated. I also went to the on-site restaurant and was surprised to find there were no alcoholic beverages and the menu was extremely limited, which was not communicated clearly and felt misleading.
