Holiday Inn Lancaster by IHG

Very poor experience. I had purchased reservations at the Holiday Inn Lancaster for $250.97. The reservation was for 2/28/26 (Sat) - 3/1/26 (Sun). My wife and I traveled over an hour to Lancaster to attend an important reservation at a restaurant located a few blocks from the hotel that started promptly at 6:30 PM. When I showed up at their hotel at 6:15 PM to check-in, I stood at the front desk for about 5 minutes. No one was in front of me and the lady at the front desk ignored me and eventually said, "Can I help you." There was no welcoming greeting, and she seemed annoyed throughout my entire interaction with her. I told the front desk lady my name and that I needed to check-in to my hotel room. Stayed here to visit friends for 3 nights over a holiday weekend. It was a nightmare. One of our party got sick midway through the trip & vomited in the room, very late at night. Not wanting to subject the cleaning staff to that, we asked the front desk for cleaning supplies, which they were either unwilling or unable to give us. They would not share cleaning spray, gloves or anything else to handle the situation in a way that was sanitary. In the morning, we came back to the front desk and requested that housekeeping come through to sanitize the room (although we had done most of it ourselves) at which time they told us they had no housekeeping on staff that day. On December 20, 2025, my husband, my son, and I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Lancaster, PA. The hotel looked nice at first. We got to our room, 507, around 10:00 p.m. and started settling in. My son noticed a bug that he thought was an ant. My husband lifted the top of the mattress to check, and we were shocked. There were live bed bugs crawling near the pillows and at the top of the bed. I had already been lying in the bed. My son and I are allergic to bug bites, so this could have been a serious situation. We grabbed our belongings and went straight to the front desk. We showed them pictures and videos and asked to be moved. They transferred us to room 609. In that room, the first thing we did was check the beds. I booked this room with breakfast included. When I checked in, the front desk said my room did not include breakfast. Since it would take some time to locate the confirmation email, they gave me my room keys in the meantime .||Unfortunately, the keys didn’t work, so I had to return to the front desk again. After that was resolved, I was finally able to access my room, I tracked down the confirmation email, the staff provided two breakfast passes.||The next morning, I went down early for breakfast, only to find out they canceled their regular breakfast service. As a result, I now have to go through the booking platform to request reimbursement for a cost I already paid upfront.||Overall, this was a frustrating experience with multiple avoidable issues. Nothing over-the-top fancy, but everything was solid and definitely better than we expected. Do not expect much on the breakfast but it was fine and will definitely fill your tummies!The location is great – close to restaurants, shops, and local spots, which made getting around super easy. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the whole place felt well-kept.Staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed something.
