Holiday Inn Johnson City by IHG

If you stay at this hotel, all I have to say is...watch your bill. I have never in my entire life been charged for a damage fee at a hotel. I barely use anything when I stay. I was charged a $70 damage fee 11 days after my stay and this hotel did not notify me, refuses to say what it is for, there is no record of this in my account, and when I called the main Holiday Inn customer service line, the manager lied to them and said my complaint was "taken care of" when it wasn't. I have no idea how many guests stayed in that room in 11 days. Despite multiple calls to Holiday Inn corporate customer service, their response was "I guess you'll have to dispute it with your bank". Absolutely horrible from the moment I checked in to the first nights stay. The employees at the front desk were so disheveled. The man could not speak plain English. I had to ask him to repeat himself several times. His shirt was wrinkled. It was untucked. He looked awful. Why did I stay here. I should have left immediately. The room was on the sixth floor. I told him the only thing I cared about was the ac unit. “Oh ma’am it works properly.” THE HECK IT DOES! It’s horrible. The odor in this place is an abomination. They’re trying to cover up cigarette odors? It’s just so run down. Please don’t stay here. It’s hot. It stinks. The carpet is so old. The elevator flooring is so scarred. No hand sanitizer in their stations.

Positive: Staff was friendly and worked to address my issues. Location was good. Negative: 1st room I checked into was dirty, hair all over the bathroom and stains on the bed. 2nd room, the toilet was running loudly and the bowl was heavily stained. 3rd room was OK enough. The hotel was very loud all night. 1 of the elevators weren't working.

The only reason we gave this review 2 stars was that the staff was friendly. That being said, our stay was incredibly problematic from the start. Upon room assignment, we were given directions to the elevators from the front desk staff member and quickly discovered they were both out of order. (SIDE NOTE, The elevators last inspection was 10/2024 and expired 10/2025). We were put on the 6th floor. We found a staircase with the help of other guests. To our surprise, we got to the 6th floor and the door to the floor was locked. We went down one floor, walked to the other staircase on the other side of the hotel. Come to find out the 6th floor door was ALSO locked on that side. We ended up taking the service elevator without permission to get to our floor and room. When we notified the front

We hosted the BST Video Game Convention on Saturday November 8th, 2025. We had both convention halls. They had a great staff, and helped us tremendously with all of our needs as far as the convention hall. They took care of the rooms and bathrooms as needed. The bartenders were great too!
