Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jersey City - Holland Tunnel by IHG

We barely had time to take our coats off check-in was that quick, and the staff were confidently professional while still genuinely warm. The whole stay felt frictionless: clean, calm, and easy in all the ways that matter. Breakfast was a morning win, and the quiet street outside meant we slept straight through with zero noise. For this price, the comfort and service felt like a rare find I’d book again without hesitation.

The Holiday Inn Express Jersey City-Holland Tunnel turned out to be a model midrange hotel. Staff were friendly, and the room—with refrigerator, microwave, and safe—was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine. I have absolutely no complaints.||The hotel sits a block from the place where westbound vehicles exit Holland Tunnel, and there was a huge amount of traffic on the street in front of the hotel. But I wasn’t bothered by traffic noise in the room, perhaps because of the unopenable windows or because my room was toward the back of the hotel or—most likely—both.||The hotel’s about a 15-minute walk from the Newport subway and light-rail stations and a 10-minute walk from the wonderful Hudson River Waterfront Walkway. Fatou at the front desk is quite possibly the nicest and sweetest person I’ve ever met. The attention to detail, compliments, sweet nature but also she makes everything so smooth and easy. My work put me up in this hotel and I’ve never stayed in a holiday inn before… honestly this does NOT feel like a 2 star hotel. Rooms are super clean, large, renovated, cutesy with a gorgeous city view, gym is fantastic, valet service available and courteous. Honestly I am so so pleasantly surprised. And the main reason for this post is because Fatou warmed my heart with her kindness. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel experience. Trying to find a family and budget friendly hotel option in proximity to NYC for a vacation there is not a small task. The fact that we found this one and it not only fit those needs but exceeded our expectations for amenities and service is a vacation victory! Our family of 6 was able to sleep comfortably, was provided excellent customer service from the front desk, valets and breakfast staff and felt safe walking to our destinations. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel and rooms were clean and quiet which allowed us to rest after long days of sight seeing around NYC. When arriving, valet was kind and helpful and attentive. 42$ a night plus tax to park and not guarenteed if you venture out and come back is wild considering you paid for your stay. The room was spacious and house keeping was prompt. However the towels were ripped, both bath towels, and there was no creamer in the coffee area only sugar. It was pretty loud when trying to sleep from the cars outside. The cable is outdated.. not a smart tv or streaming service offered. The included breakfast was delicious.
