Holiday Inn Express & Suites Coralville by IHG

Positive: We have stayed at multiple Holiday Inn Expresses along Interstate 80. They are consistently clean, with a comfy bed and decent breakfast and this is one of the nicer ones we have stayed in. My husband especially enjoyed the warm cookies at check-in. Negative: ""

Went to this hotel for a conference. The rooms were comfortable and clean! The conference room was set up exactly as we requested and was clean! The location of the hotel is central in my out of town perspective. I 80 is just north of the hotel. There is a mall within walking distance of the hotel. There are a variety of restaurants in Coralville for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was included and they offered a standard variety of items. Our group especially liked the omelets! Lastly, the staff was eager to please and serve! We arrived late morning. The staff made sure that we had a room shortly after lunch. We went to eat and then the room was ready. We were able to go in and rest before the first event of our conference.

Our stay was not pleasant. We were put on a first room floor (room 100) and it was terrible. Outside of our room is the side entrance door and we didn't get a good night sleep because we can hear the door slam with people going in and out of the hotel. The room was also so cold. We put the window unit at warm but the room didnt get warm enough and it's winter with temperature under 20 degrees outside. The shower head has poor water pressure. Breakfast has very little selection with super dry almost burnt eggs. Will never stay here again.

I booked a guaranteed room at Holiday Inn Express Coralville back in April for a big October weekend, using a valid credit card and receiving an email confirmation. When we arrived we were told our reservation had been cancelled because my credit card had expired in the seven months since booking—and there was no room for us. There was no call, no email, no text at any point to let me know there was a problem or even that it was cancelled. In fact if you look at the reviews of this hotel, you will see us mentioned by another family having the same issue. We were stranded in a completely sold-out city. Justin, the general manager, truly exceeded our expectations in meeting the needs of our association's annual gathering. The meeting room was just right for our group! Breakfast was fantastic! Those veggie omelets are simply the best! Our room was incredibly clean and cozy. Thank you, Justin! We sincerely appreciate all the effort you put into making our stay the best!
