Heartland Inn

This property has been updated and my room was fantastic. The bathroom was top notch and the bed was comfortable as well. My room had a refrigerator and microwave too. Breakfast service is free and the selection is very broad I would say there is something that everyone will like. The dining staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have a free shuttle service that goes to the University of iowa hospitals and the VA hospital which runs twice per hour. The property has a laundry room for guests with 2 washers and 2 dryers. A hotel size pool is available for guests as well.

It was a decent place. Staff was friendly. Lobby was clean, contenintal breakfast was okay (nothing to brag about), room was clean for the most part (there was a wadded up Kleenex on the floor by the AC/Heater unit) looked like it fell out of someone's pocket, other than that the rest of the room appeared to be clean, beds were not very comfortable and you only get 2 flat pillows per bed, there was no elevator. For the price and the purpose I would stay again, if I had to.

The worst hotel! We booked three months ago. With a wedding party|Block of rooms. The hotel called a week before our stay and they confirmed we had a room. We got there the day of our expected stay and they informed us we didn’t have a room. told us there was nothing they could do about it. They had overbooked and it wasn’t their problem. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They tried to sale out a room with people already checked into the room. BAD MANAGEMENT!

Positive: The hotel and room was clean, the breakfast was decent, and Negative: There was heavy humidity in the room to the point the carpet in the felt damp as well as the sheet. I ended up getting sick with a cold from being in that environment. The ceiling in the bathroom was bubbled and cracking like from a leak somewhere

Great location, just a quick four-minute drive to the Iowa City hospital and Kinnick Stadium, with plenty of food options nearby. The front desk clerk was super friendly and professional, and my room was clean and comfy. Only downside: the shower pressure was way too gentle. Still, I’d definitely stay here again!
